The Thunder’s 3P% since the 2014-2015 season: 30th

**We haven’t had a top half finish in terms of 3P% in nearly a decade.** This time period includes us having superstars who are great shooters like Kevin Durant, Paul George, and Chris Paul, yet evidently not enough shooting around them to compliment their percentages. Ironically, our best season in this time span (2019-2020) was also our lowest relative frequency season.

2014-2015 = 23rd (14th most attempts)

2015-2016 = 18th (17th most attempts)

2016-2017 = 30th (18th most attempts)

2017-2018 = 24th (11th most attempts)

2018-2019 = 22nd (13th most attempts)

2019-2020 = 17th (27th most attempts)

2020-2021 = 29th (13th most attempts)

2021-2022 = 30th (7th most attempts)

2022-2023 so far = 29th (10th most attempts)

**But wait, it gets worse!** If you were to take the cumulative percentage of all threes taken since the start of the 2014-2015 season, [the Thunder rank dead last](https://www.statmuse.com/nba/ask?q=team+3+point+percentage+since+2014-2015), shooting 34%. Over that same timeframe, we rank 14th in cumulative 3 pointers attempted.

And the poor shooting percentages can’t be chalked up to us sucking as a whole. Contrary to the prevailing wisdom on r/nba, we’ve only tanked for two full seasons. Since the start of the 2014-2015 season, we are the [12th best team in terms of win percentage](https://www.statmuse.com/nba/ask?q=best+win+percentage+since+2014-2015), with an above average 0.523 wins per game.

The rebuilding team that we have clearly puts an emphasis on the 3 point shot, given that we’ve been in the top half of the league in attempts consistently. It’s just been brick city. A lot of us are hoping that Chip Engelland will ameliorate these issues, and he’s as good as it gets, but he’s not superman. Please Presti, get us some shooting. SGA deserves to have a spaced floor around him.
