I know big men aren’t always expected to be the best playmakers, but this is just ridiculous

He is being asked to do everything with a shit roster
He has always had problems with turnovers but can’t really blame him for these last few games when he gets forced to be the ball handler due to the Harden injury and having no backup PG
Keep that same narrative energy when hes a top 3 mvp candidate yet again
Is this the end
Compare his APG to other Centers and he’s doing pretty well
There’s very few Nikola Jokic types getting around
Every season i hear sixer fans say his passing improved and everytime i watch him i see nothing
Every superstar has to adjust to the added defensive attention they receive when they make the jump. It feels like Embiid is the only one who has never truly adjusted to it. He reacts to double teams the same way he did 4 years ago and it makes the Sixers really easy to defend imo.
In Embiid’s defence, people always correlate turnovers to passing, but a lot of turnovers are generated by scoring attempts, and post scorers will naturally be turnover prone as they’re constantly having to operate in tight spaces while being swarmed.
Ewing, Shaq and Olajuwon all averaged more turnovers than assists for their career
Hoel
This is why you use usage rate to determine if x turnovers is too many.
He’s honestly at right about his average for turnovers per game. He had 7 tonight to it made it jump but he’s also only played 7 games. He should be fine, I’m more concerned about injury with Joel. He’s so good that you live with all the turnovers.
It’s not ridiculous, it’s very standard for big men. Hakeem averaged 2.5AST/3TO for his career, Shaq 2.7AST/3TO. Embiid’s 4AST/3TO last year was probably a little above average for centers.
If you’re a newer fan it seems off because nearly all superstars these days are wings or guards, and the one other dominant center is one of the most unique players in NBA history.
Only thing missing is a scapegoat then you have playoff Embiid.
That’s not good
He’s a big man, he’s not going to have many assist, but the TO’s gotta be taken care of
Please tell me again how this guy is the incumbent MVP 😂
This is exactly why using assist turnover ratio is stupid
I was dutifully watching to see what sixers news would make it to the top. He’s consistently scoring over 25+, was immense in the game before this and there was nothing. And today there’s this. This sub hates Embiid.
It’s dumb to hold turnover stats against high usage players.
Yeah banging in the post and people tryna get their grimy little hands on the ball while you go up you’re going to turn the ball over unless you’re Jokic apparently
Overrated and always has been.
Obviously not a good look, but Embiid has also missed a third of our games, so a couple of high turnover games are weighing things a lot more than other players that haven’t missed time.
Extremely small sample size and if we’re going to use the “hasn’t played enough games” criteria on players with positive stats to withhold them from qualifying, then we also have to do the same for negative situations.
Embiid hype train finally over?
When you’re in a trying not to hate on Embiid challenge and your opponent is r/nba (Difficulty: Impossible)
Inject any and all Embiid slander into my veins!!! Lol
Remember the days of Harden and Westbrook averaging like 6 a game? Lol. What a crazy time.
