The interpretation of statistics can be very subjective and there are always so many variables to take into account (ie, Harden entering the team, leaving the team), but this is a fairly big sample size across many games since 2020.
Some of my thoughts/observations:
\- Absolutely elite Offensive rating when both are on the floor. I don’t think there’s a 2 star combination out there with a higher offensive rating since 2020.
\- The Defense rating suffers when Kyrie enters the game, as discussed repeatedly on this sub. If Kyrie can stay disciplined on the defensive end, which I have confidence he can do, the sky is the limit for this team.
\- Solo KD has a better Net rating than Solo Kyrie.
\- If we are to use the Net rating as an indication, Kyrie’s presence helps the team.

Again, the use of statistics is great for looking at overall trends. User beware when making specific judgements.

Gonna plug his podcast also, the Brooklyn Buzz – a great listen if you love consuming Nets media like I do.
The on-off numbers for Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant since 2020-21.
Things to note:
– KD & Kyrie together; the offense is incredible
– Solo KD is better than solo Kyrie
– Defense is best with solo KD pic.twitter.com/y6Ej0S9YcP— Jac Manuell (@JacManuell) November 11, 2022

Vaughn has a tall task making sure KD and Kyrie are efficient on both ends together. Or if not, he’s gotta stagger them correctly.
Kyrie should come of the bench.
Nets aren’t worse with kyrie, but the offense becomes a bit disjointed in the sense that it’s not always looking for the best shot.
But maybe the real reason for that is kyrie has barely even played with Kd (without harden)? Like 20 odd games last year, 10 in 2020 before harden came.
They definitely need more time together tbh.
And defensively he just has stop “doing his own thing”.
What about their W-L record together minus Harden?
