Boston Celtics win 5th straight, get MVP performance from Jayson Tatum

The Boston Celtics have now won five straight games thanks to their win over the Denver Nuggets. Tatum played at an MVP level, Jaylen Brown was just about as good, Al Horford was hitting everything and Payton Pritchard made a big contribution with Malcolm Brogdon out. John Karalis of Boston Sports Journal has that and how Grant Williams and the Celtics defense was able to limit how much damage Nikola Jokic was able to inflict.

  1. Can’t express how awesome it is to see such a deep Celtics team. Haven’t seen it in years and it’s so fun to watch. Go C’s! ☘️☘️☘️

  2. At this stage, I think keeping Pritchard is more crucial than trading him for a big. I'm wondering if Griffin was brought in to be a body to throw at Giannis and take charges seeing he is so good at it.

  3. Good to see Pritchard get some
PT. Not to sound negative, but with Brogdon’s injury history he may get a lot more. Scary to think JT hasn’t even reached his potential yet (most players do around 28) and his defense and rebounding are both rounding out nicely. If this team stays healthy the sky is the limit…🙏🏻☘️🔒

  4. @John thank you for that Friday podcast. Huge win, as now with the next 2 or 3 games being very winnable and it would be very fun to see us get to a 8 or 9 game winning streak so early on

  5. 25 8 8 on amazing efficiency is better then an all star level performance it and MVP level performance give the man his flowers.

  6. Jayson Tatum is special, dude. I mean, can i say we are BEYOND BLESSED to have both the Jays 🔥🔥🔥

  7. Do not trade PP!! He has a attitude that this team needs if they need a center they can sign Derrick favors

  8. I wasn’t so sure before we began the season but now, Boston needs to lock up Joe long term NOW…!!!!!💯

  9. I still don't know what the criteria is for MVP… Wait looked it up "Best player on a team with the best record" So, if the Celtics end up having the best record Jaylen could also have a crack at MVP technically.

  10. The Celtics have done a great job picking the right guys to develop, and then developing them the right way. I mean look at Timelord, Grant, PP, Hauser, NVM the Jays. Very good job drafting/developing.

  11. Question how is Jayson at mvp level when brown was the better shooter tonight and almost had a triple double double

  12. So y’all just gonna down play JB’s Stellar Performance like that c’mon guys Brown when on a 10 straight bucket run how is not being celebrated he’s been handling bidness thus far on a nightly basis plus he’s posterizing the opps with Ferocious Dunks… I stated in the preseason Brown will be an All Star this year and the most developed on the Celtics this season… 😉

  13. Put Pritchard into games for 2-3 minute stretches when jaylen is not impacting the game. He’s better as an off-ball weapon who can get his own shot. He always give you the effort, and it gives JB an opportunity to regroup and be coached up a bit so he’s not just out there getting cardio in. Imagine once or twice a game we get max effort PP, picking guys up full court, doing his best Alvarado impression when everyone else is gassed

  14. Thanks Jon for showing us the conversation with Coach Joe M. Pure gold 😂 “I never thought of it like that” so genuine

  15. I think we need to give Joe Mazzulla some credit, this offense is special. I thought at first maybe it was just because Tatum is having a crazy start but no this team just finds ways to score whether it's Al going off, Hauser being unable to miss 3's, Derrick White and Brogdon have each had a game where they had 20+, Smart had a great night the other night and has been an amazing passer and Floor General.

This offense he has gotten all the guys to buy into is something special.

  16. Love ya John wish you would team up with CLNS to your so smart about the game. They are too but y'all smartness and their funniness combine would be a fun episode
