The response that this received on Twitter is alarming.

The 1st go to comment was “but that was 65 years ago”. I don’t know who needs to hear this but 65 years ago is not a long time. They see the black & white photos and think that this stuff is ancient history when in reality it’s not. Regardless of skin color, most of our grandparents were affected by that same ideology Jerry Jones was partaking in.

The 2nd go to comment is “He WaS 14 YEaRs OLd 🥴”.
    – “Remember that in 1954, Brown Vs Board of education was put into law, and one of the wags white people for years would fight against that law was through mob action and Jerry Jones was a part of that. So ifyou’re going to tell me he’s changed, I need to see it. I see his comments about
Kaebernick. I see the fact that
he has never had a Black head coach. I see him donating half a million to Governor [Greg!
Abbott’s campaign. This doesn’t sound like he has changed too much since 1957”
    ~Chuck Modi

That is Chuck Modi’s (journalist) response to that claim.

Lastly, people were upset that LePolitics said this to the reporters, but reporters have quite literally asked him about every socioeconomic injustice before, so LePoliticalScience had to the right to question why they didn’t ask him any question about Jerry Jones.

    “hE wAs 14”

Emmett Till was 14 when he was lynched in Money, MS in 1955.

George Stinney was 14 when he was wrongfully accused, convicted, and executed in 1944

Jerry Jones was 14 when he chose partake in a mob that blocked Black students from entering North Little Rock HS in 1957 in support of segregation
