Kevin Durant early, Kyrie Irving late, and the Nets beat the Wizards | Locked On Nets Podcast

The Nets took home their third game in a row on Wednesday, beating the Washington Wizards 113-107.

Kevin Durant was masterful once again, dropping 39 points on super efficient to keep on the ridiculous heater he’s been on for the last four games now. And then Kyrie Irving stepped it up in the second half, helping the Nets extend the lead with Durant on the bench in the 4th. Irving finished with 27 of his own. The Locked on Nets guys break down the win in a packed podcast.

  1. Nets is not at their peak yet. They will have more pieces to work out. Now they just need to win and keep pace with other eastern top teams.

  2. Each win keeps the wolves away from Jacque Vaughn's front door. It was a good win against a good team. It's unfortunate Sean Marks didn't give him the head coaching job instead of his inexperienced pal Steve Nash. A couple of years was wasted Nash. That's one, of several reasons, Marks should be fired. JV is showing the league and fans that he's a capable HC, especially considering the injuries and drama the team is dealing with. Anyone that's seen his activity on the bench and hear his press conferences should come to the conclusion that the Nets are fortunate to have him.

  3. @Doug Norrie I heard you say, tonight, that Bradley Beal is overpaid. I once heard you say you don't count "someone else's money". It's rough being consistent on that isn't it? LMAO

  4. It's not as much KD he is who he is or Kyrie. It's about the rest of the nets . They can't do it by themselves. Everyone else is not consistent. The team and the coach needs to figure out to get more consistent and productive

  5. Great win but first I want say every game is one KD injury away from us being a lottery with out our own pick and it doesn’t change my concern with the job Marks has done to build a team around KD that sustain without him if he needs to rest or is out five to ten games. He is leading the league in minutes. Is this sustainable without injury? I feel like we have seen this play out before.

Second like Joe and Cam or not either way you have to root for their success because both these two player specifically if playing well unlock what Marks can potential do to improve this team at the deadline because right now there would be basically no one of value except KD to get significant help in a trade. And for me KD shouldn’t be traded for any reason at this point.

  6. The Nets are 28th in rebounding. They have length on the team, JV just likes to play small. 3 of the 4 players that came off the bench against the wizards were 6’4 and under. Morris needs more minutes.

KD and Kyrie’s minutes needs to come down too. There playing too many minutes. Giannis is averaging 4 less minutes a game than KD, and Giannis is recognized as the best player in the game right now

  7. I know Kessler Edwards hasn’t looked amazing in the past, but they did give him a contract extension and obviously he hasn’t looked nearly as bad as cam Thomas has in recent memory so the fact that he couldn’t get any minutes in this game that’s a little curious when you don’t have enough size and he can definitely spread the court. Mark’s gave him a contract extension because they believed it was probably worth continuing to develop, so shouldn’t he get a little bit of burn in these situations.

  8. Since were not gonna trade for a Center, Nets should go after Rui Hachimura. He hasn't been playing as of late
