Bally Sports reports subscriber losses, lower cash flow as RSN model teeters

For those unable to get around the paywall:

– Bally Sports parent Diamond (subsidiary of Sinclair) reports only half of projected cash flow
– 10% subscriber loss aggregated across all 19 channels
– CFO blames it on cord-cutting, not anti-consumer practices
– Possible Diamond could declare bankruptcy
– Analysts are split on the impact a material change to regional sports networks would have on leagues
– Potential missed RSN TV deal payments upcoming
– Sinclair CEO told investors they are happy with customer experience and app quality

Basically no one is sure the impact it could have, but all the headache the move from FSSW to BSN has given Mavs fans is being felt. 🏴‍☠️🦜

  1. Mavs are the only thing keeping me tied to cable.

Lower cash flow? That because the cash went right into their pockets before they even had a good product. The service is shit, The app is shit. We didn’t have any money to make this a viable service cuz they paid themselves first.

I got the Bally+ app they launched late September which lets you stream all the games without cable for $20 a month. It’s been working with no issues on Apple TV hardware for me. It’s been a pleasant surprise since I’m a Bally hater like everyone else on here. I wasn’t aware this existed until recently so just an FYI for those in a similar boat. Still wish they would just add it as an add-on for YouTube TV vs a separate app altogether.
