  1. I feel when it comes to the “big wing” 6’7 6’8 we do have it in Brissett and Kendall Brown but the thing is consistency and opportunity but we for sure need more it could be very helpful for brown to continue to improve his offense but I feel regardless he should still be used for his defense/athleticism while continuing to learn

  2. I like what Kevin was saying about how we need 3 big pieces and complimentary pieces. I agree. Ty and Benn are definitely 2 big pieces, I think the 3rd needs to be a big wing (long and 6’7 minimum, need a guy that can matchup with the freak wings of the league) or a center if Myles leaves.
It is pretty incredible that we got 2 big pieces so fast. But I’m also impressed with the amount of complimentary pieces we’ve gotten too. Nembhard and Duarte I think are definitely good pieces. The fact that it’s a guards league and we are seemingly 4 deep there for the future is very exciting to me. IJax could be one of those good pieces too. Maybe even Nesmith if he can keep improving.
Assuming those guys work out, I think we are 1 big piece and 1 complimentary piece away from having a complete young team.
Finding that big piece will be difficult, we might be too good to have our pick of some of the top talent in this draft. But it’s a super deep class, and we’ve been drafting really well recently. If our scouting department can nail it one more time this teams ceiling might just be elevated to contender potential.
But, we also have loads of cap space so maybe we can make something happen there. Ideally, I think that’s where we add our complimentary piece and then save up a good chunk of our money for extensions down the road. I’m heavily eyeing Grant Williams as that piece. Celtics can’t pay everybody, they might have to make a sacrifice here to keep bigger pieces. He would be an expensive role player, but we have the money for it. And he’s such an elite role player. Incredibly efficient offensively with not a ton of usage. And he’s an impactful defensive player. He’s a forward (we need that very bad!). He’s young, and he has Finals experience. I think he’s the perfect addition for us.
That might mean letting Jalen Smith go, I like him, but I think he’s limited. And I think we can upgrade over him. Assuming we hypothetically drafted a big wing (or via whatever other means), and added Williams, that’s a big improvement at the forward spot (could keep Brown as depth too).
A guard-wing rotation of Ty, Benn, Duarte, Nembhard, Nesmith. Forward rotation of Williams, and hypothetical draftee. Big man rotation of Turner and IJax. Could keep guys like Brown and Taylor around as depth (but not rotation regulars). That’s a 9 man rotation most nights with almost no fat to it. Very young with an immense amount of potential and a ton of versatility. The only real weakness I see is the lack of a really strong rebounder.

I know I just wrote an essay and a half but I feel strongly that this is the perfect direction for the team😅. Let’s go after this hard Pritchard!

  3. Kevin always tells it honestly and to the point. Great analysis by both, this is pretty much where this team is in a microchrosm. I would've just touch on the slow starts too on cause and how to maybe fix it moving forward. Otherwise, you both nailed it.

A little off topic but Jalen Smith is heating up. He's finally feeling comfortable playing with Myles and it looks like He is tired of deferring. He's hit his career high in points in 2 out of the last 3 games. In 22 and then 19 minutes. He's rebounding the ball too. He's looking like the Jalen Smith that we acquired last year for Torrey Craig who is also playing real well right now for Phoenix. With this schedule coming up we need Duarte and contributions from everyone If we want to win games. Hopefully this team shakes that Kings loss off. Blowouts on the road happen often in the NBA. New Orleans was beating Toronto by 30 In the first half the other night. Won't be the last time this season this team gets blown out. Just shake it off. Not a huge deal at all. Just hurt pride and ego is all

  5. If that loss to the Kings on the road was a loss to the Magic at home I’d understand why our fan base was so toxic despite outperforming all expectations. As it stands I feel like some of the fans of this team could easily slap a Celtics jersey on and proceed on their way
