Nico on Kemba for DMN: “I don’t think there’s any expectations, really. One, I hope his body holds up. I think that’s the first and foremost thing. I hope his body holds up. If it does, he’s a veteran guy. One, he’s an amazing person — I think that’s the point. He’s an amazing person.”

I do think he could help Hardy continue to grow his game in a mentorship role regardless of his on court production
This team is full of amazing persons but lacks amazing basketball players.
Why the fuck would you sign a player to be amazing person and not a contribution to the team. Nico lookin real funny in the light.
Oh God, the dreaded “he’s a great guy” quote
this team just wants all the good PR guys. you might not like their play on the court but at least they’re nice people lol
Some of these quotes coming from Kidd and Nico are way out there. Kidd saying he hopes hardy can get some playing time? Nico saying he signed Kemba because he’s an amazing person???
You probably wont be able to play but if you do you don’t have any basketball strengths worth mentioning.
This guy is not GM material.
What is happening in the comment section lmao. Idk what most of you guys are expecting them to say? This is to keep expectations low and hope for a surprise, there’s a reason he got bought out. Look at John Wall lot of hype in the preseason and he can’t beat Reggie Jackson out of the starting lineup. There is no one available right now, and I understand the trade machine says THJ, Josh Green and BERTANS can get us Giannis but doesn’t mean it’s going to happen. Right now we have very little trade assets, it’s the cold reality. The team taking a swing at Kemba who’s an ex-all star is OK, why the tf would Nico say yeah we expect prime Kardiak Kemba to lead us alongside Luka. It’s a + if not, all this signing cost us was Campazzo.
Why don’t we trade Luka for boban. We get all the good guys and luka gets a ring. We all win
Shoe salesman.
This does not inspire confidence at all
Also in the article:
Do you regret or reflect as management on not making a stronger push during the thick of free agency to re-sign Jalen or add another point guard, especially knowing how crucial three ball handlers was to the playoff run last spring?
Harrison: One, us not re-signing [Jalen] wasn’t our choice.
Great, you can take him home and he can read your kids a bed time story. In the meantime, bring some god damn players that are actually amazing on court.
It’s weird being both a Mavs and Wizards fan. We’ve all known the Wizards organization has been full of shit for 2 decades. But gotdamn the Mavs have been giving similar vibes recently.
