As teams prepare to ‘Brick for Vic’, let’s remember the GOAT tank job of non-shooter Mark Madsen going 0/7 from 3 in game 82

Truly stellar work by Madsen here who was 1/9 from deep up to this point in his career:

Long story short, the tanking Minnesota Timberwolves were playing their last regular season game of the 2005-06 season. Up by 3, with 30 seconds left, they suddenly turned to Madsen who launched a rare jumper. Next play he loses Brian Cardinal for a 3 and the Grizzlies force overtime.

During the two overtime sessions Madsen goes 0-for-7 on a sudden rampage of threes. Pretty surreal seeing the announcers and the whole crowd fully into it. At one point Jim Petersen even audibly encourages him to “let it rain”.

Unpopular opinion, tank basketball is way more fun than competing basketball. As a wolves fan I miss it 🙁

Timberwolves of course shrewdly used that pick on Randy Foye

Madsen was a crowd favorite for his hustle. He earned that moment. Also one time I remember him eating a salad on the bench during a game

Daniel Otoru tanking the Clippers into a playoff matchup with Dallas is the goat tank game IMO.

Watching the Grizzly bench laughing is an incredible part of that video.
