  1. I think our biggest weakness is inconsistency but with time that will definitely get better I think

  2. Feel like our bigness weakness is shooting tbh when we hit our shots we beat anyone cuz we take like 6 more shots/ft per game

  3. This is true, but if you follow Nick Nurse enough you will know that he actually values the ability to get back on defense quite highly over possible offensive boards; maybe to a fault. So this tactic to beat them might be easier said than done. You will see the team heading back quite early when a shot goes up, so to consistently get them on transition you'd have to hope for turnovers as opposed to quick outlets after missed shots.

  4. The Pelicans shut down everything that Toronto has been doing well this season: fast break points, rebounding, second chance points, and shooting from the top of the key. The Raps still don't have consistent 3 point shooting, and their half court offense is stiff and relies too much on iso or two-man action. They didn't look comfortable last night or prepared to run it out on defense. They didn't have an answer for Zion under the rim, and they still struggle to defend the corner three/baseline drive. Lots of things to work on for December, but I think they will struggle with these issues all season. Not every game, but they will meet their match with teams that can force them into bad turnovers and who slow them down going cross court.

  5. Good take but I think that goes with any team if you can bring the ball up the court and good a lot of fast past points. It’s 1 game, Raptors would crush Pelicans in a series. Scottie Barnes is off right now, and the Pelicans were shooting like 70 percent in quarter 1.

  6. The problem of this match is that Raptors was really dominated on rebounds (offensives 12-3, defensive 52-30) that give more second chance, contre offensives and transitions opportunities to Pelicans. Other point was verry bad range on open 3 pts and (42%-28%) and FT (85%-68%) that was not allow them to tie the score anyway….If raptors got more rebounds they 'd have tied the game easily and got more offensives opportunities. They must work on FT…
The Pelicans was not leaving any rebounds thats why the game was so physical…

  7. The pelicans game plan doesn’t work in the playoffs and the game slows down and it more half court oriented.

  8. So length and athleticism doesnt impact transition defense? With that logic transition offense will beat anyone? Big guys are too slow, and small guys are quick but too small?

  9. They’re also the #2 transition offence team in the league. Second to us, the Raps. So it makes sense that they would want to do what they do well, a lot.

They made A TON of shots and we played terrible defence. They always get out and run, they just don’t normally make shots at that clip.

And the raptors need to figure out something in the half court set. Our half court offence is atrocious.

  10. They also made everything they looked at in the first half 72% from the field and that was the ball game. Some of it was in transition some lay ups but a ton of threes as well like 13 in the first half. Ballgame right there.

  11. Vanvleet has been a mystery this year. Inconsistent and not anywhere near his all-star status. Nurse continues to give him extreme minutes and as a result his poor shooting is nothing more than a turnover. When he is playing poorly the entire Raptors team is in trouble.

  12. It's a long season and it's embarrassing you made this video for one game. They have plenty of other teams in the eastern conference the Raptors need to worry about that are way better than the Pelicans. Terrible click bait.

  13. Raptors have to win by committee but at times it feels like they’ve lost their former next-man-up mentality. I really hope they start taking some steps towards consistent effort on defence – and gain some role clarity on offence.

Idk what to think of this roster if we don’t see GTJ and Scottie return to their performance levels of last season. I would imagine that Masai is hoping a clear direction for the team emerges prior to the trade deadline so that they can best prepare for the future.

  14. Pelicans beat them in halfcourt and fast break. The game didnt start getting down until they subbed all the starters out and didnt have an offensive engine on the court (Zion, BI, CJ).
