I definitely don’t think we have to keep him. Yes, he’s been solid on defense this season. And he shows how important a solid rim protector is on defense, which will be Chet’s job next season.
But I don’t think Bazley’s a good fit with this version of the Thunder. If OKC does keep him, so be it. But I don’t think he’s a necessity.

Can someone tell me why the hell he changed from #7 to 55?

It’s rather we let him walk, try and get a 2nd rounder and some change for him or trade him with a pick or 2 and try to get a guy like PJ Washington who is long, can score, and did not sign an extension with the Hornets making him a RFA this offseason.
