Van Gundy is big mad about the inconsistency in these calls, but honestly I’m glad they call it at all. Even as a Bucks fan, man needs to hurry the fuck up. Given he still sucks at FTs it clearly doesn’t help, just grab the ball and shoot it. It’s not that hard.

What’s even worse is the practice motion he does before getting the ball. I remember him throwing the ball back to a ref last season because he didn’t let him do the practice one first. They won’t players leave the arc between free throws anymore but they’ll let Giannis kill 10 minutes a game at the free throw line.

First of all it makes practicing FTs a nightmare because you take to long.
Second, it hads pressure knowing you may be called for a violation
And third, he takes so long he ends up overthinking it.

I timed a bunch of his free throws from another game, he averages 14 seconds with the ball in his hand before the shot and didn’t once take less than 10. I’m a huge Giannis fan but the league needs to enforce this

Never understand why poor FT shooters don’t just pick one of the top FT shooters in the league and copy their whole routine. If it doesn’t work, try a different guy until you find something that somewhat works.
