Is Alperen Sengun THE FUTURE For The Houston Rockets ?

Alperen Sengun has been playing very good so far this season & is a bright spot for this Houston Rockets team. His ability to navigate the post like its his world is RIDICULOUS! I honestly think the Houston Rockets should run the offense alot more through him, but hey only time will tell. What do you think about Alperen Sengun & The Houston Rockets?

  1. Now that Fernando is back, Sengun should wait no more than 25 minutes. He will get 20-25 minutes at most, because there are 3 centers in the team right now. As we know Silas likes Fernando more than Sengun so he is gonna close most games with him. Silas only has one system which is guards handling the ball top of the key and play iso ball mostly. He thinks KPJ can do what Doncic does 🙂 Sengun doesn't fit into his system. They came back against the Suns when Fernando played , that means his system can work sometimes I have no words for that. However KPJ and Green play like day and night sometimes, they have no stability. Even in the first half, they were extremely terrible, ridiculous turnovers, bricks etc. In the second half, Green played legendary so they did manage to win the game. But this is not sustainable, of course. I mean that as long as Silas is the coach, Sengun can't be the player everyone expect, because he is not a type of player who sets a screen and just roll, he needs the ball in his hands. At the same time he will not be able to stay on the court at crunch time and he can't improve defensively either. I think the front office is on the same page as Silas, they want KPJ and Green to running things and get Wemby from the draft. That shows that Sengun's Houston career isn't gonna be very long. I hope they add Sengun to the same trade package with Gordon so that he goes to another team asap. It would be plus for Houston too, so they can get good players in return.

  2. Agree with the take here. Sengun just needs to get his defensive footwork up to the level of his offensive footwork. And he needs to make the 3 a part of his arsenal. Don't get me wrong. I LOVE that he's more of an old school interior big. But Silas runs him in that high pick and roll and teams are dropping the big wayyyy back on it, leaving him wide open at the top of the key. He's lost confidence in that shot and isn't pulling the trigger, but just a few of those threes a game will keep the defense honest and open up the paint for Jalen and KPJ. Would love for Silas to pull a few plays from Rick Adelman's offense. Not that Rick was the greatest coach of all time, but he was the master of getting the most out of a passing big.

  3. Unfortunately, all you have to do is watch this golden state game to see, Silas does not want the offense centered around Sengun.
They should run the offense thru him 70 plus percent of the time. They want to run it thru kpj and jalen. Maybe in time they get better.
Sengun will get wasted or traded. Unless the change their game plan.

  4. Is Rockets with Silas the FUTURE for SENGUN? The real question is rather there!
