[Pincus] “He (Kyle Kuzma) wants out,” an NBA source said. “He’s looking for over $20 million a season and in a big market [or with a contender].”

> Kuzma (27), however, is a flight risk and precisely the kind of player many rebuilding teams would covet in free agency. He could be a top-five free agent this offseason—at worst, top-10. “He wants out,” an NBA source said. “He’s looking for over $20 million a season and in a big market [or with a contender].”

>Kuzma is believed to still be on the Sacramento Kings’ radar after they missed out on him in 2021 when the Los Angeles Lakers traded him to Washington instead of Sacramento. The Kings can’t trade a first until 2028 (due to protections on their obligation to the Atlanta Hawks for Kevin Huerter), but they could build a deal around Harrison Barnes with that distant pick and/or prospects like Davion Mitchell.

> Another team to monitor would be the Lakers, knowing Kuzma has championship experience playing alongside LeBron James and Anthony Davis. Giving up a first to both part and reunite with Kuzma would fit the Lakers’ track record. Los Angeles might have Kuzma on its list, but the Bulls may present a better option—more on that later.

Lol these players just don’t care. Get me to a big market contender quick.

Barnes and Mitchell? Best I can do is Richaun and a pick.

20 million for kuz is probably a little much but not unreasonable

Kuzma to Sacramento is pretty intriguing idk if I like it costing one of their few, maybe only, positive individual defender.

Don’t think he goes to Lakers. Pretty sure he said recently he doesn’t want to be 3rd fiddle again

    Edit:

    >Being in this situation helped out a lot. Here, I’m not playing behind LeBron and AD. Those guys are my position, my type of player, who I am, my style,” Kuzma said. “So coming here, I don’t have that anymore. It’s been great because me, Brad and KP don’t get in each other’s way. We all just flow out there. It’s been a pretty good jell for the first 20 games. We’re all averaging 20 a game without having any friction out there.”

    And

    >Being in Washington is really just helping me be myself. I had to show a shell of myself in L.A., playing with greatness, and rightfully so. That’s what you should do playing on a team with those type of players at my position. Whereas being in D.C. has allowed me to be myself and expand my game, which a lot of people probably didn’t think I was.

Does it make sense to trade a 1st to get Kuzma if he’s going to be a free agent next year and can sign into the Lakers Cap space?

Im probably not understanding something. Unless maybe they think getting Kuzma this season could help them contend.

Welcome to the Phoenix Suns Kyle!

    Hopefully Crowder likes politics

  11. Calm-Cry4253

Literally any contender not named Boston or Milwaukee will try it

i’m still upset the kings trade for him never materialized. i’d be elated if we managed to grab him

  13. ThaLiveKing

At least make an all star team or something lol

Kuzma is fools gold. He is not a difference maker.

  15. unit-8002

They is his 6th year in the league and his numbers are barely better than his 2nd year.

On a contender he is a really good role player. No way I’m paying him 20 to average 10/3/2

  16. I’m sure we want him back in a bad way but $20M per year bad?

  17. imnotknox

20 doesn’t seem like a bad price for Kuz, provided it doesn’t escalate much it could become a very valuable contract, how he’s played I feel he’s earned it.

  18. ihateeuge

Kuzma is probably worth that tbh when the new TV deal kicks in

  19. KidofLimbs

Kuzma is gonna turn 30 and AD is still gonna be 28

  20. TheeMalaka

He doesn’t want to be third fiddle..

I think somebody should explain to him that he should be happy to be 3rd fiddle.

This is the kind of swing a team with no real direction should make. If I’m Charlotte, I’d absolutely throw 4 years and $80 mil at him, give him a ton of volume and shots, and see what happens. Once no real contender or big market pays him what he wants, I could see this as an option if he chooses money and volume over big market and contending.
