Just umm…don’t look at his efficiency numbers from before this year. 21 of those games were in 2021-2022, when the Pelicans were initially trying to use him as a volume scoring guard alongside an iso scorer in Ingram, an offensively-minded center JV, and chucker Devonte Graham, with Zion out with injury and the rookies yet to break out. He had a 47.7% TS in those games.
He did better in 2020-2021, starting 13 games closer to the end of the season in that year they started dropping a bit and ended up winning the Zion sweepstakes.
