Great fight off a road/road back to back. Rebounding absolutely killed us. This is a game where we really missed KAT, they would have zero matchup for him.
Bounce back on Monday after some rest.
Ran outta gas and ran into old habits against a team that’s more talented on a road b2b
Disappointing but not panic inducing
Motherfucker
We are desperate for 3pt shooting.
On the back end of a b2b without KAT, TP, and Lil Mac & keeping it close is a good sign. There are definitely some mistakes that need to be cleaned up for future games though, too many open 3s and FTs given
Rebounding should have been better, but I wonder if that and the TOs in the 4th were because of stamina from the b2b.
Finch ended the game with that timeout.
Hard fart game from both teams. Sometimes it just doesn’t fall your way.
Let’s win on Monday.
The Game-Thread from tonight further convinced me that 95% of people have no idea what theyāre talking about. *face palm
Sometimes you lose. On the second night of a back to back. Away. Against Damian Lillard and friends.
Itās not time to fire the coach, itās time for you to go outside.
without baby mac our bench is a huge liability and they basically got housed in all of those minutes. can chalk the loss up to that
Lots of positives, played almost three quarters of really great basketball. Then turnovers and rebounding fucked us in the late 3rd and 4th.
Not too worries, back-to-backs are tough especially on the road and Simons had a hot shooting night.
McDaniels with 0 rebounds is insane for being 6’10 and athletic
Oh well, honestly I thought we played really well. They hit some really tough shots and we had lapses at the worst moments but overall I was happy with the performance.
While an acceptable loss from a B2B butā¦
My God thats fucking dumb of Finch to interrupt a fast break for a fucking use it or lose it timeout WHEN WE HAD MOMENTUM SWINGING. Cost us the game IMO
Finch’s obsession with Nowell and Rivers needs to end.
Also he seems to have 0 awareness with time management.
Ready for him to be gone
L Timeout from Finch
Tough break, but we beat ourselves. Those second chance points were killer – especially Dameās 3 late in the fourth. Rest up squad and letās get it back on Monday.
After leading the league in 3pt attempts last year, we are shooting a concerning amount so far – regardless of percentage. only 23 in a game we were actually shooting well is bad.
I heard one of the things we lack is point of a attack defense Iām not a basketball head but is that what killed us today? 2 players getting a thirty piece doesnāt sound good to me
Mcdaniels getting zero rebounds is a fucking crime. We gave up an extra two picks to keep him and he canāt even get a single board???
Finch killed that game.
Momentum going, calls a timeout with a fastbreak going.
Curious how the “better without KAT” crowd is feeling at the moment
I fail to understand how the tallest starting lineup in NBA give up the most 2nd chance points. It just does not make any sense.
Good game though, we just could not guard their back court. Someone like Okogie would be nice to have in such games, we have no one to fight through screens against small guards, especially if there are 2 of them. I hope Connelly can find someone like Alvarado in 2nd round or undrafted.
Iāll die on the hill that Finchās 5v4 timeout cost us the game lol
Momentum fell flat after that TO
Jaden McDaniels cannot play 30 minutes and come up with ZERO rebounds. With his length he should be getting 5 a game. Inexcusable. The difference tonight was on the boards and he is a huge reason we lost.
Itās a loss, but one Iām not massively upset over. A lot of positives to take out of that.
The number of people that seem to want Finch fired is insane. Do you guys remember some of the coaches the Timberwolves have had? Finch literally has the third highest winning percentage of any coach in Wolves history and one of those guys (McHale) only coached 31 games.
I’m not saying there haven’t been flaws, but come on, have some perspective.
Yes I am salty as hell right now. I don’t care what you guys say, we lost that game because the refs wiped out 2 free throws for no good reason. Everything bad in this game happened after that.
>”Anf took the leap we thought ant wouldā stfu losers
I think I stopped watching the game after that burn, how did Edwards finish? u/train345643
Hell of a fight, couple of things going differently (free throws, rebounding, turnovers in the 2nd half) but hell of a fight to stick with a hot shooting team on a 2nd night of a back to back. But tonight definitely shows where KAT is missed, would help on the boards and he can get buckets during that lull in the 3rd with no Rudy and Ant.
Wolves played hard TBH, but the rebounding needs a lot of work. Loved seeing the guys feed Rudy inside.
This was lost by Finch when he took that brain dead timeout with about 3 min left. 2 pt game, transition opportunity with numbers, POR reeling. If I were a team owner I’d make him fly commercial back to MIN tonight.
I wonder when the team is going to realize that they aren’t gonna be good until they are able to rebound the ball.
That was probably the best loss of the season. Like if we lose, we need more losses like that. Not these blowout losses or blown leads
The game was fun. Monday should be fun as well
I remember the days when I could at least reliably bet for or against this team. Win or lose it was always fairly predictable. I know we’re mid lane and there’s no real point of even being a fan if I can’t predict any gambling lines. I want to see Minnesota rates of Chip someday but got to get even bleaker and bleaker everyday. Just for everybody’s bleacher takes I’m betting with the Lions tomorrow and I guarantee they cover see you in a few hours.
Really like how Rudy has stepped up offensively, and guys are now getting him the ball. He puts lots of pressure on the rim and helps us get into the bonus with how often he gets fouled.
Nowell in particular needs to play smarter. He has the ability to be a secondary playmaker and needs to do so, especially with JMac out.
Not sure if this a Rudy thing or a Finch thing because Rudy was playing high on Lillard PnRs, but if Rudy continues to play drop coverage on Anfernee Simons and let him come off screens with 15 feet of space, he is going to make you pay. Rudy has to be all the way up at the level of the screen for Simons.
Some peeps need to take a breath and relax. 2nd night of a back-to-back and Dame and Simon’s go off and we hang with them..could of went our way if some of those calls were different down the stretch.
Best case is this team plays .500 ball while KAT/Prince are out because it’s a tough stretch ahead.
