Since he got drafted, the Heat are 23-29 (.442) when Tyler Herro starts. They are 93-49 (.655) when he comes off the bench.

Herro doesn’t fit in the starting lineup which already has 3 players who have the ball in their hands a lot in Butler, Lowry, and Bam. The Heat are [29th](https://www.statmuse.com/nba/ask/which-team-leads-the-nba-in-bench-scoring) in bench scoring this year, after being [1st](https://www.statmuse.com/nba/ask?q=which+team+leads+the+nba+in+bench+scoring+2021-2022) in bench scoring last year. The solution here seems pretty obvious.

The heat were also [8-3 in games PJ Tucker missed last season](https://www.statmuse.com/nba/ask/heat-record-without-p.j.-tucker-last-season). And the only 2 changes made this season compared to last season were 1. Tucker leaving and 2. Herro being moved to the starting lineup.

Herro coming off the bench does help our bench issues.

He shouldn’t be starting especially not with this roster and it has nothing to do with his skill level, herro going up against teams benches gave us an ultimate advantage which helped the team win games. With the increased aggression of bam i think it would honestly make sense to bring herro off the bench

Tyler is good enough to be a starter. He shouldn’t have to come off the bench just because our Front Office can’t get adequate bench scoring.

Might be something to consider. Outside of trades, nothing should be off limits

maybe start dipo, keep herro to come off the bench idk

Heat starters were +8 tonight. On the season they have a 116 offensive rating and 106 defensive rating.

The starting lineup has not been the issue.

Tucker and Herro are not the only changes. Max, Gabe and others were great off the bench last year and performing really poorly. Dedmon has been awful this year and shouldn’t be playing

Yup starting lineup was far better last year when he wasn’t on it and the bench was far better when he was on it. No reason for him to start other than his contract/expectations

If anybody should be coming off the bench it should be Caleb Martin. He’s playing out of position and he would be way better as a backup to Jimmy.

Herro is going to give u 18-30 points whether he starts or not. It makes no difference if he he starts or comes off the bench. It’s the other guys around them who are performing poorly. U can be undersized if u can shoot 40% from 3 like the heat did last season. The drop off in 3 pt % is the reason we are losing. If u aren’t going to shoot lights out then playing small serves no purpose. Max duncan gabe all shooting like crap is y we r losing. Moving Herro to the bench won’t change that.

Tyler and Martin came off the bench last season, that was 30ppg between them.

also 2-9 when he scores over 20 and 7-1 when he scores under

This stat is flawed af because in the past why has he started? Because people were out. Our bench sucks because strus, gabe, and duncan are ass now. Caleb also moved to the starting lineup when he provided scoring off the bench last year. We lost depth and replaced it with a raw rookie in Jovic and Highsmith who is dogshit offensively. Herro to the bench does nothing but piss him off and puts Strus back in the lineup when his play has been abysmal.

People are saying „he deserves to be a starter“. I don’t care what he deserves we need to do what makes us winning
