Golden State was just 13-13 heading into a December showdown against the red hot Celtics. This detailed film breakdown looks at how the Warriors defense and Klay Thompson helped take down Boston, and how they could propel Golden State forward this year.

  1. Warriors had the Celtics and especially Tatum psychologically defeated by the end of the finals. No way Raymond and and the warriors was going to let them out of that psychological hole.

  2. I love the Warriors. I hope they can win another, or at least go out honorably. I'm happy to see them play good basketball

  3. So you wanna tell me Klay is getting back to his defensive form AND Kuminga is also becoming this strong physical plus-wing defender? Them two plus Wiggins can lock up any offense in the playoffs. You can put those 3 up against the likes of Giannis, Khris and Jrue. Obviously Jaylen and Jayson too. Kawhi and PG. Guys of that caliber.

  4. This game was a reality check for the Celtics. I’m a Celtics fan but nobody can deny that they were out played by golden state. The defense was extremely tight and very difficult to break.

  5. As a Warriors fan, the vibe I get from the team this season is that they're not trying as hard as they should, and they're just messing around with rotations to see what works come playoff time. I was concerned like everyone else at the start, but I think they're trying to actually win games now. This upcoming road trip will really tell us where they stand

  6. I’m not impressed because they were supposed to win this game. I mean, yeah, the defense was superb this game. But at the end of the day they beat the Celtics in the finals last year, so I’m not as impressed.

  7. Great analysis as usual but simple reason the Warriors won that game was that Tatum embarrassed himself and Klay had his best game of the season. Also unfortunately Blake can’t guard anyone who shoots

  8. Jason Tatum really needs to improve his strength. I rarely see taller star guards and forwards struggling against shorter players, since they can shoot above them or post them up. Especially in prior eras like Kobe, Penny, Jordan, Magic, even Mark Jackson and Gary Payton shoots over and posts up against smaller guards as if they were nothing.

  9. Steph and Klay own Tatum and Brown. Embarrassing for the Jays getting outmatched AGAIN by legends 10 years older

  10. Btw, Kobe would have rose to the challenge not only in the finals but for matches like this. Tatum don’t you ever compare yourself to Kobe ever, you soft af and you ain’t a winner. You just care about stats

  11. Warriors can flip the switch whenever they want honestly. I don’t see anyone stopping them from winning another championship.

  12. As Jaylen Brown said in his press conference, some of the Celts (*cough*JT*cough*) had that game circled on the calendar for months and got too hyped and intense, and didn't play their game. Hopefully they learn.

  13. That Celtics drop defense was so unusual…there were a few times where they should have called defensive 3 seconds on Griffin. He was parked in the paint. Jeff Van Gundy even commented on this deep drop defense calling it a type of “one man zone”

  14. 6:05 After the screen, Kuminga's drive to the rim gets two defenders on him in the paint. With Tatum carefully watching where Kuminga is going to be.

  15. No one is taking them in a 7 game series, the biggest “threat” just got spanked convincingly.

  16. 6:25 again after the screen, Kuminga runs up to the paint tangling up another defender. I really hope they put Kuminga in more, as the NBA is really taking notice of him in the paint.

  17. As of now, their starters and Poole are fine. The 2nd unit was the problem. They have improved their defense and gotten better lately.

The warriors can win with their main guys and a few bench players. They just need a few of their backups to step up and they should be fine

  18. This might be a weird analogy but the warriors are like the big 3 era Celtics but just multiplied by a million in every regard. Like the warriors' big 3 are better than the celtics' and Steve Kerr is a hundred times better a coach than doc. Those Celtics are overrated in my opinion, but the warriors are basically what that team could have been

  19. Horford is more important for this team than people realize and Tatum still have to improve a lot as a passer

  20. Forcing Tatum and brown to be playmakers shouldn’t work this well😂
