I have been enjoying how the team has been playing so far, but I think there is a good chance there is a move on the way for this team, and with the trade deadline coming up within the next couple months I wanted to try and find some realistic options.
I think any trade we make will include Winslow, he has played his value up this season, however his role will become redundant when GPII and eventually Little come back, I’ve also liked the minutes Watford has given us as well. Keon is likely our most valuable asset, as his rookie contract and high upside would be appealing to young teams.
I would love to see us pursue Jarred Vanderbilt, because he will be on an expiring contract next season and will be unrestricted the following off-season, so the Jazz may look to move him before he is expiring or he leaves on his own. The Jazz of course would have no interest in Winslow, as they are not looking to contend; however the Kings likely would, as they are currently ranked near the bottom of the league defensively and are desperately trying to make the playoffs.
A trade could look like: ([https://fanspo.com/nba/trades/7TJZEwcKAHg709](https://fanspo.com/nba/trades/7TJZEwcKAHg709))
Blazers: Winslow, Keon, Greg Brown III, and 2024 Hawks 2nd round pick –> Vanderbilt and Alex Len
Kings: Alex Len and 2025 Blazers 2nd round pick –> Winslow
Jazz: Vanderbilt –> Keon, Greg Brown III, 2024 Hawks 2nd round pick, and 2025 Blazers 2nd round pick
The Jazz would get a couple 2nd rounders and a player in Keon Johnson that can potentially come into his own with their organization. Alex Len has logged minimal minutes for a Kings team that already has a center rotation that includes Sabonis, Holmes, and Metu, and his $3.9 mil expiring contract almost matches perfectly with the $4.0 mil of Winslow.
Making that swap with the Kings allows the Blazers to save a second round pick, remain below the luxury tax, and provides an emergency bench center in case Nurkic or Eubanks miss time. Don’t get me wrong, Alex Len is not very good, but at least he’s 7’2″ and has 10 years of NBA experience. I think if anyone were to decline this trade it would be the Jazz, however I don’t know if any team is realistically going to offer them the 1st round pick in exchange for Vanderbilt that they will be looking for, and this may be one of the better trades they have available.
Our rotation would look like:
Starters: PG: Dame, SG: Ant, SF: Hart, PF: Grant, C: Nurkic
Bench: PG: GPII, SG: Sharpe, SF: Little, PF: Vanderbilt, C: Eubanks
Reserves: Watford, Walker, Len

you left out Ibou Badji
Don’t think Jazz sell on Vanderbilt for a bunch of scraps, how does that help them? They’ve been pretty high on Vanderbilt.
