    We need them to help the rotation because we have too many players that are not giving us anything consistently (Theo, Frank, Javale, Reggie*, Davis). Good teams get production from their 7-9 guys on the roster.

    I don't want either one getting a lot of minutes because they're not good defenders. They can help a little, but neither of them solve the bigger issue of Dallas needing a player who is good on defense, and can also create shots, with good consistency.

    To win a championship this team would need to be a playoff team without Luka. Luka is then a deciding factor in the playoffs. Now they seem to be dead last in NBA without Luka. I am looking at Pelicans for example…they went to playoffs without Zion. With Zion they might have enough. With Luka they would be champs.

    Mavs should tank for Wenbanyama.

    They have 11 teams with worse win % and the pick they sent to Knicks is top ten protected.

    The reasons why they should tank is simple. They arent good enough to contend with this roster, not even close. They dont have any attractive assets besides Luka to be able to trade for a second star. And they have some bad contracts.
    And no matter how hard they are pushing, they cant help but at best be in no mans land. Too poor to contend and too good to miss play in.

    I love a saying in French ”reculer pour mieux sauter”…
    You take some steps back to be able to jump longer.

    Mavs has to tank this one season. Luka has a contract for 4 more years so theres time to build something that will last, instead of trying short term solutions that are making the team worse by every season that passes by.
