He’s not getting traded and reporters should stop wasting words on it.

What teams in the league even have the assets to make a trade worth Presti’s consideration aside from like, Utah?Even if the FO was willing to field offers to extend the runway for the rebuild, a lot of teams have already sold the farm for the immediate future.
In terms of trading personnel, who really compares? Trading for an aging, problematic star that wants out won’t come here for a “win now” situation, and there’s zero reason to take an underperforming player around Shai’s age as a project if he’s already balling out.
I just don’t see where it makes sense from a business level for OKC, unless they absolutely fleeced a mismanaged franchise somehow. It makes little sense for Shai either, since he’s already the franchise player on a team being constructed to give him lots of tools to succeed.
If prospective trading teams check back in 2 years and the rebuild has fallen apart by then, a trade makes sense. As it stands, the only areas where a trade makes sense is if you’re a beat reporter trying to get some clicks, or you’re in NBA 2K23 franchise mode fantasizing about what your team could be with him on the roster.

IF we were to trade SGA, it wouldn’t be before the trade deadline. The only way Sam pulls that trigger is in the offseason when we know who has the first pick in the draft. Still a big if. But a package deal Picks and SGA for Wemby is the only way that happens. Having a long-term deal with SGA, there are literally zero reasons for us to trade him this season.
These fan bases think just because they want it, it’ll happen.
