Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving shine. Nets take care of business against the Wizards

Following one of the best wins of the season against the Pacers on Saturday, the Nets were back to (mostly) full strength against the Wizards on Monday. They ended up winning the game rather easily with Durant putting in 30 and Kyrie adding 24. Things never got tough for Brooklyn who looked in control almost throughout. The Locked on Nets guys discuss the new vibe with this team and how they’ve now put together a stretch of winning eight of their last nine.

  1. The Brooklyn nets are improving and building real continuity with their depth.

The big three of Kevin Durant Kyrie Irving and Ben Simmons have bought in to coach Vaughn program and the bench is showing its versatility.

With the trade deadline starting Thursday Brooklyn main priority is getting another center.

Some centers might cost a main depth player and a young prospect.

But two centers who are affordable in trade scenarios are Mo Bamba and Andre Drummond.

Mo Bamba is a young prospect with lots of potential. He brings some blocking and rebounding skills. Long term Mo Bamba could be a good fit in Brooklyn.

Drummond meanwhile played in Brooklyn last year and is still leading in rebounding.

He could provide some good minutes off the bench and be another good veteran leader for Brooklyn.

Be interesting to see what route Brooklyn goes in trying to upgrade the team.

  2. Just don't trade Seth!!!

He want to win the championship with Kevin and Kyrie 👏🏀

    My guy ✨⭐

it's got to be like a championship trade 🤔

  3. Two takeaways from this game: Yuta Watanabe's consistent defensive effort and TJ Warren's ability to get a timely bucket.

  4. Here are my takeaways from last night:
First, the Wizards team was not at its full strength. It lacked Beal, Hashimura and Morris. Porzingis was really a threat to the Nets defense but left the game earlier after 20 min.
Second, Cam Thomas + Kevin Durant (their chemistry) didn't succeed last night. We saw how Cam called for a pick and roll but his teammates didn't quickly react. Cam coming off the bench has to find some room in order to establish his game and find his rythm. He is a good young guard who can make the difference especially in clutch times.
Third, the giant japanese Watanabe and T.J Warren need to make more hits from the three point line. Warren played pretty well and it's a matter of time to re-establish his full strength. I see him as a back-up for KD or playing with him also. Kevin Durant was Kevin Durant. Kai looked fantastic.

  5. What do you guys think about the Nets/John Collins trade rumors? Is he really a step up from Nic Claxton? John Collins averages slightly more points than Nic but Nic averages more rebounds per game. Also, John Collins can knock down the three but Nic averages 1 more block per game. I personally believe in Nic Claxton. I think we should keep him and I think he is going to keep getting better.

  6. Thank you Doug. Been waiting for guys who cover the team to start saying it

Claxton is playing at such a high level and guys keep repeating Stephen A talking points.

The same difference in rim protection between him and Sharpe is also the difference in rim protection between Claxton and most nba centers

  7. Definitely should table that Kyrie talk til the summer and leave it alone

The most important thing constantly being glossed over is it will have an impact on KD being here going forward and they don’t even have the funds to replace the talent which lends to likelihood he’ll be leaving too

    Enjoy the vibes
