His rim defense has been weirdly worse than expected though. I loved the game winning block last week, but it sure looked like he got beat and recovered. In previous “Stifle Tower” seasons, teams would have never considered challenging Rudy in that situation.

Rim defense is what I care about and it’s not been very good. Also the rebounds are misleading. Many are uncontested. Seems like he’s still getting beat for lots of contested boards. It’s not all on him but I expected he would clean up more of those than he is

People keep talking about his lack of paint/rim defense. It’s still one of the best in the league and the biggest reason our team defense in the halfcourt is one od the best.
