Only reason the NBA did it because of the Black Lives Matter movement . There is not enough history yet to name awards after some of these players that are still playing . I would have iconic Canadian names like Terry fox and Steve Nash and Jay Travino . Canadian names that have impacted the NBA

Rename the 6th man one to
*Kyle Lowry’s Raptor of the Year award*
Could be for community outreach beyond impact on the count. Like an outstanding player award.
