We gotta be cursed against the Jazz. Our shooting percentage from 3 was hilariously terrible.

Aside from that though, Zion has carried this team to the 1 seed and it’s obvious now more than ever. Everyone else has been incredibly inconsistent night in and night out and if we aren’t hitting our shots our defense suffers as well. Nobody could get it going tonight and everyone kinda just gave up as early as the 2nd quarter.

JV is not the long term answer at the 5 and never will be. He was great for us when we needed him to play a big role offensively but that time has come and gone. He is insanely slow defensively and has even seemed to get worse at rebounding. I love the guy but I think he needs to be moved sooner rather than later.

BI we miss you. Please for the love of god come back and take some load off of Zion’s shoulders.

I usually like to type of some slanderous words for who I felt lost us this game but imma skip today. That word count would exceed anything I wrote in college. GG Zion!!

First, the season is going to be ok. These nights happen. No gameplan or energy is going to fix threes just not going in.

Second, we’re still in a really good position. We’re still tied for first on the west and will be when we play the team in Utah on Thursday. Memphis plays the Celtics on Thursday. Chances are we’ll still be number one in the west on Friday.

Finally, we’re watching the best season of Pelicans basketball arguably ever. We’ve gone from believing that Solomon Hill returning from injury was just what the Pels needed to succeed (in seasons past) to the #.JahWatch to being mad that we’re going to have to share the one seed in the west for a few days. This game was frustrating, but keep the energy in this sub good. Don’t take this for granted.

Also, KIRA LEWIS JR MINUTES! Love to see that guy healthy again.

Alright, let’s just say this game fucking sucked

Zion actually was having a really good game. 26-9-5 and while the foul trouble started a chain of events of problems, in hindsight he should’ve stayed in. He didn’t pickup a 4th foul all game.

Idk what to even think about JV. He becomes unplayable in too many potential playoff opponents. Not sure what the Pels can do to fix that outside of a trade.

CJ needs to be more consistent. It’s actually maddening how off he’s been all season but seems like the dude can’t string together 2-3 good games in a row.

We have to get more consistent shooting. It’s unacceptable how often we’re down 20-30 points behind the line. 15/47 to 4/27 this game. Just can’t win like that.

The game before the win streak was that ugly Memphis game, so nights like this do happen, but they sure do suck when they do.

damn i forgot what losing felt like

  6. Vince3737

Awful game. No need to overreact. We will be fine

  7. NikoRavage

Half of our 3’s came from Temple and Willy…..

  8. GentlestCrib15

I wanna see Kira instead of Jose next game, let him rest and maybe even Billy instead of JV if he keeps playing like this

EDIT: I just looked back at a play and Jaxson was just standing out of bounds in one of them 💀

It hurts so much when we’re struggling and they got guys on their team contributing from the perimeter left and right keeping the game completely out of reach.

Just a complete struggle offensively, that was surprising because we actually did some things well like generating turnovers, but the offense was just not there tonight especially from 3. Can’t wait to get BI back hopefully soon.

  10. Lyte_Work

Not the Kira minutes I was expecting…but I’ll take it. We move.

  11. notthefakeguy

No need to panic. One of those nights… Try again on Thursday

  12. YourPostTitleIsTrash

Beat us at 3 and on the rebound.

    Zion played well.

Not much else to say about this one.

    On to the rematch!

  13. BobMarleynthewhalers

People need to relax I saw some AWEFUL takes and people wanting trades on the game thread. guys we will be fine.

on a side note im really happy for Nickeil. for the people that forgot. He found out he was traded to the jazz as he landed in portland. and he virtually got no playing time under quin synder last season. he just started getting minutes having to play behind clarkson, tucker and the recent injured sexton. It just goes to show how hard it is to crack rotation in the nba and Nickeil can ball we all know that. I just hope Jaxson realizes this sooner than later that those opportunities to play may not always be there. see yall thursday

  14. GentlestCrib15

If we lose to the Jazz again then it’s official that we’re cursed against them

  15. JakeGittes74

Any time you add a player to the starting lineup coming off injury, it changes things drastically. This is always the case. Just gotta get into a new flow. It’s all gravy.

  16. Can we get Beasely at the trade deadline? Need a consistent shooter badly

  17. tucker9_

remember we won 7 straight games before tonight, they had a bad night, it happens, that kessler guy is like 9 feet tall, pels still stacked

  18. callme_nostradumbass

It really do be like that sometimes. Some games we’re just gonna shoot bricks.

  19. SpaceAfricanJesus

What if this is the formula for our season? Get absolutely blown out, then win 7 in a row, endlessly repeat? I could tolerate losses like this then.

  20. Eissen350

Not much good to say. Jazz played a great game, we didn’t. Hope we can rally for the next one

  21. If any of you fuckers overreact to this I’ll lose hope in our fanbase I stg💀

  22. Yadi_Toddy

I’ll take 7 wins for every 1 loss. Sometimes the buckets don’t drop and the team just gets out of sync. Onward

  23. smashadamspel

Killa you did that! Happy he showed out! Hoping he finally has stability & turns into player we all knew he could be (even if its w Utah of all places) Nickeil has prob had 5 coaches in his career already & every last 1 them wanted something different out of him. That’s hard. I still want him end up in OKC w cousin Shai. sGA, keil, giddy & chet would be so fun watch!

  24. g00fy1308

Flush this down the toilet and come back strong on Thursday!

  25. Prestigious-Cover-4

So does anyone have a take on how to beat them after losing twice to this season?
