There are so many great quotes from Kareem in this article, it’s hard to choose one. More than anything, his perspective is so needed today, even though it comes from the same exact debates and struggles that the Civil Rights Movement was steeped in. It seems like society as a whole didn’t really resolve issues of racism and bigotry over the decades, it just swept them under the surface for new generations to take up. That’s why people like Kareem are so important to hear from today.

> Conspiracy theories allow people to justify their irrational biases with the superficial appearance of intellect. Unfortunately, it reveals just the opposite: lack of ability to think logically
Spot on. The faux intellectualism is what has been so grating about the rise in conspiracy theory shit recently. I feel like the “conspiracy theorist” stereotype was like some wingnut living off the grid somewhere but now it’s so mainstream and it’s like “cool” to come up with new dumb shit to believe.

This particular article is from November 20th and a lot of what it covers has been discussed like in my prior link, and Kyrie did a 20 minute interview/apology (that did not get nearly as many upvotes, comments, or views here as other posts re: him), and while I and others have issues with the ADL as far as accusations that they conflate criticism of Israel as a nation with antisemitism, no one accuses that organization of going *soft* on anti-semites and they said they believe Kyrie, accept his apology, and do not believe his is anti-semitic.
I think this issue has been put to bed. Not, like, *anti-semitism and bigotry/hate*, that clearly hasn’t been put to bed as an issue…but specifically Kyrie’s foolish actions from weeks ago.
Edit: When I first made this comment, I mistakenly suggested this was the *same* article as the one I linked; that was an incorrect assumption. The article I linked is a post Kareem made on Nov. 3 and this Q&A is from Nov. 20th. They still cover a lot of the same ground, so I’ve edited this comment to reflect that.

I love how Kareem refuses to engage with Bari Weiss’ BS agenda. Excellent work.

a lot of people are curious, but not everyone is intelligent enough to fulfill their curiosity. I agree with the essence of what Kareem is saying, and he wrote multiple similar articles in the past, but for someone like Kanye, he is just mentally ill. I struggle to see him as a conspiracy theorist rather than someone who been in dire need of medical help for the past decade and being his own enemy. This is not justification as much as It is impossible for Kanye’s behavior to be out of normalcy. Kanye is bipolar, he needs help otherwise he will end up like Donny Hathaway
Kyrie on the other hand is just a reflection of society. We like think we are some intellectually superior individuals relative to him, but we are not. You read or see something, you believe it until you read the next thing. Kyrie’s beliefs are all over the map, and he seems like someone who would build a core foundation of a topic based on 5 mins video on Youtube like pretty much the majority of the society.
When education and reading becomes a hobby, intelligence becomes a commodity.

This dude loves sniffing his own farts. He’s so pretentious. The Kyrie debacle is over now. He apologized and was punished pretty thoroughly. No need to bring it up again just to grandstand.

Kareem says great things here that I agree and are similar to things he said on his [SubStack post](https://kareem.substack.com/p/shaq-kyrie-irving-idiot-has-twitter) discussed [on this sub last month](https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/yl90o9/kareems_take_on_kyrie_honestly_theres_little_hope/), but I think this is a bit late and already tread territory now.
