Luka is too slow, that's the problem; allow me to explain. Any great number 2 to Luka will have to accept the fact that they will not be allowed to out shine Luka. Mavs are struggling to find and super talented all-star worth #2 that won't outshine Luka on the floor in terms of pace and speed (Jalen Brunson). At least that is how I see it.

Well my honest opinion is. We(the mavs) need a rim god(rebounding and rim protection) as our second star and a lou will type bucket getting coming off the bench and running the offense. The best 6th man to fulfil this role imo is jordan clarkson so maybe the mavs trade for him and the rest of the players need to be 3 and d role players. The mavs also need to avoid trading josh green that dude plays with too much energy and has way too many intangibles to just trade away in combination with the fact hes finally learning how to shoot.

Luka is all hype and a showboat. He isn't looking for a ring as much as he looks to shine for. himself. He hasn't proven he can play with other stars. He's too immature in many ways. He isn't physically gifted. There's no reason why he should leave Dallas and there's no reason why they should make the team more competitive. Luka need a great Big man who can protect the rim at an elite level and who can play pick and roll, catch lob passes like AD or Gobert, or score from midrange and 3 like Embiid or Lopez, 2 would be the perfect teammate for Luka, so 1 big man like that+ great wing defenders like they already have, or the second option is a great wing like KD, Kawhi, PG, Jimmy Butler, Tatum, Brown, Booker, SGA, Siakam ect and last option is a great ball handler and scorer like Curry, Dame, Spida, Kyrie, Beal, Garland or Anfernee Simmons.
