Ah this is the week where the NBA decides to crack down on traveling violations and then ignores them for the rest of the season.

Those ones on smart were bogus

Anybody know why the NBA is starting to crack down on traveling ?

And each one is a travel! Shall we focus on the players and the fundamentals of the game, rather than on the refs? Isn’t one the first thing we teach at basketball to not move the pivot foot? Well i’m gonna make it about the refs… Either they’ve been told to call every travel they saw, at least for this game / part of the game; Or they wanted to make a point, as if to say “look at what happens when we blow the whistle by the book”.

I mean.. they were all good calls.. I think the thought process is call a bunch and eventually they’ll naturally adjust.. That’s what they did w/ the flailing into guys on 3s and it’s worked well

They need to. Call these, fine, but pivot foot slide travels aren’t as egregious as double dribble/carries which they don’t call as much it seems.

Giannis scoffed at those numbers.

If you don’t like that, you don’t like NBA basketball
HelloS0n
from the games I’ve seen, it seems like they always come in spurts. If one gets called, you know they’re going to call a handful more in the next few minutes, then it’ll go back to not being called.

This many travel calls makes the game unwatchable

Nothing can beat that Westbrook travel.

Finally those ” gather steps” are called accordingly.

I don’t think Tatum’s was a travel. I think the rest were travels and very good calls considering how quickly they happened. Glad to see them cracking down.

Davis was really just walking around in the post expected to got get called out 🤣

LOL some of these aren’t that bad but Marcus Smart casually trying to change his pivot foot to take 3 steps into a shot was hilarious. They always seem to focus so much on moving your pivot before the dribble off the triple threat but I feel like the ones that have a way bigger impact on the game are the egregious 4-5 step shot gathers and one-gather dribble euro steps ala Giannis (and many others, tbf)
