Instead of making big moves in the offseason, AKME banked on Demar replicating a career year and insane clutch performances from last year. Last year he averaged 4.1 PPG in the clutch on 53.5% from the field. The efficiency is way down this year.
Idk what the moves would’ve been to make, you’d hope that Zach and Vuc could actually do something in the clutch but they barely did last year, so why expect anything different this year?
I expected Demar’s numbers to be high. Even though he hasn’t been as great this season, he’s still our best clutch player. Its just hard for him to replicate how incredible he was last season. It would definitely help to implement some actual offensive schemes in the clutch.
Zach has been pretty bad, the eye test confirms that. I wonder how many of his attempts were bad 3s, early in the shot clock. If he can improve his shot selection, that percentage should hopefully go up.
