He was a bit sloppy defensively tho, mostly because the guard play on defense was horrendous. G League basketball is chuck threes, turn the ball over, and vibes. Wisemans touch round the rim is fucking elite tho.

  2. Watched the whole game, offense comes so easy for him his touch around the rim is amazing, felt like he walked into those 30 points. His screening looks much improved, seems like he’s still a bit early on some but on most screens he’s getting solid contact, problem is everyone in santa cruz has butter fingers and had trouble handling the ball. Defense looks better but still could use some work, esp with communicating on switches, seems like they botched a few but he’s being more physical which is good. Rebounding wise i still want to see him more physical and go for them more, a lot of the shots tonight didn’t bounce his way but there were a few that i think with some reps and positioning work he’ll bring them down, hands look a lot better too which is a great sign. He looks miles better from where he started, im tempted to say bring him up cuz of how badly we are missing a big body but i think it’ll be best for him if he sticks in the g for a little longer, maybe till a little after new years. Really promising stuff though

I’m happy he played 34 minutes. He needs to get his conditioning right to make the impact he wants to.

We should call up wiseman when we get back from the road trip. The 7 game homestand will be good for him to get some experience

Fuck yeah James Wiseman cooking. He’s improved on offense this game but I do feel his rebounding could have been better. This was a three steps forward one step backward kind of game where on defense he was not as good as the previous two games. But still much better because I saw no ghost screens.

This is just a matter of getting reps.

Now James Wiseman’s offense was INCREDIBLE. Good to see these results, and I am sure it is a huge boost in confidence for James.

As someone who watched the game, I really don’t understand what the coaches are asking Wiseman to do on defense. Is he supposed to guard 5s on the perimeter, or camp in the post? This lack of cohesion by itself causes a lot of defensive miscommunication for the entire team.

Outside of that, he has a beautiful hook, and a sick stroke from the free throw line. Great stuff in those departments. What he can work on is not using the same spin move every time. He needs to expand his arsenal, but i saw flashes of good finishing with the right.

The major major thing he needs to improve in is simply not ball watching. He needs to involve himself as much as he can in every play. A lot of times he’ll stare at rebounds that he thinks are out of his range, when in reality he could totally high point them. This is the biggest flaw of his game imo and the thing that will hold him back from playing good minutes in the NBA. He needs to understand the play and involve himself in the system as much as he can

We should have kept Quinones on the two way instead of bringing in Jerome.

Scoring never has been his problem he wasn’t doing anything on defense and his plus minus was always terrible

He was the best player on the team. The rest of the team’s butter fingers and choking let him down. He is great at finishing and dominant in the paint. His screening is becoming better every game but could still use some improvement. He has improved defensively but there is still quite a long way to go in that aspect for him imo.

The progress is looking great and I believe he can turn it around and become a key player later on in the season. We should keep him in the G-League for a bit more so he can develop more. The development is definitely looking great so far!

  10. Am I crazy to ask for double digit rebounds at this time?
