  1. Nice Tee-Shirt, brother. Always cool to see another person who is in to basketball and modern shit but can still get down with some Pink Floyd, Hendrix, Beatles, Led Zeppelin and all that jazz lol.

Such a stupid comment but I just wanted to compliment your shirt, and your killer content man.
    Always appreciate your takes.

  2. I was excited about the trade at first. I thought they gave up waaaay too much, but Gobert provided two things they lacked, interior defense and defensive rebounding. I think two bigs can work, the Bucks did it with Giannis and Lopez. Yeah, I get it, Giannis is so versatile he made it work, but it worked. But I think part of the problem is that neither Towns nor Gobert can consistently punish teams for playing small against them on the offensive end. Gobert only scores on put backs and lobs, while as good as Towns is, he's not a great post up player, he's more comfortable on the perimeter.

  3. the video is called Was The Rudy Gobert Trade A Mistake? but the animation asked "Was Rudy Gobert a mistake?" which is a much harsher question but probably still yes

  4. Honestly a trade that would benefit both sides and be perfect would be a ben simmons for gobert swap. Ben simmons can speed the pace of the twolves and bring a similar defenseive status that gobert brought and nets get a real center finally that can protect the rim. Both players would bemefit from this aswell as simmons doesnt have to play with claxton who is also a non shooter

  5. Edwards refuses to accept a screen from Gobert. He’s shown at moments a tendency to not want to buy in totally and be a team player

  6. Of course it was a mistake. One of the dumbest moves I've ever seen in the NBA. Up there with the Garnett-Pierce trade to Brookly. Maybe dumber the way the game is played is so obviously against it.

  7. It was a very big mastake. Minnesota gave up too much to get a half ass center, who isn't much on offense, and is disrupting the other players to shine.

  8. Get everyone out of the paint, give Rudy the ball outside, and let him drive towards the empty paint. If no extra defenders come and he can score, great. If extra defenders come, kick it outside to the open man and shoot from outside and hope Rudy can collect the rebound if he misses. That's how I'd be inclined to run the offense based on the information provided

  9. It is because they gave up so much for him is the issue. Unless they can be a legitimate championship contender it can not be a good trade.

  10. I don’t know why teams keep trying this 2 dominant bigs thing. Can’t think of any team that had success that way except the Spurs.

  11. It feels like the type of trade that gives a good test to the coaching staff. Can they unlock Gobert's greatness without trading away their identity?

Otherwise, I'm a massive KAT fan but still waiting on him to further round out his game, which is already impressive in a vacuum.

My sister lives in Minnesota. It would be nice to watch a conference semi final game one day

  12. Personally I think it was a mistake. The reason being is the roster was on a good trajectory pre trade. This trade pushed the timeline too far ahead. Edwards wasn't ready for this big of a role. He had 1 good playoff series he isn't even in his prime yet. If they were to redo the trade I would say try for dejounte over gobert. People have begged Minnesota to get a pg for years and I think he would have fit better long term to build with this team and probably would have cost less.

  13. This is a pretty bad take. Saying the trade was ok because the wolves are bad? Why does that make the trade ok? The trade is bad. That’s why the wolves are bad. They consistently mismanage assets. They just traded the kind of assets that could land a legit star to pair along with edwards. They could have traded KAT for a package to bring some interior toughness and some depth. When you get a guy like Edwards, your team has a chance to be a legit contender. All you have to do is not blow it which is what the wolves did. Blowing their shot to be a legit nba contender is why this was one of the worst trades in history.

  14. That was just first domino really believe towns and russell are on way out for a PF and Pg and picks

  15. you really just be talking out of your ass… when did clint capela ever come close to 19 ppg

  16. no..
The Rudy Gobert Trade ain't A Mistake..
they ( TWolves ) really needed a defensive anchor..
    a big one..
for them to get to the next level..
unfortunately, they also traded a good locker room leader to get Gobert..
    Pat Bev..
they need someone like Pat Bev to somehow compromise the lack of maturity of some of their players ( D-Lo, KAT, Ant-man )

  17. I think it's neither the biggest nor worst trade the Wolves ever did. That would be sending KG to Boston for Al Jefferson and yard scraps. That was a terrible move that hurt the team for years.

I agree that KAT's defense and somehow finding a more consistently good PG are the big priorities for development.

Last night they were without KAT, Prince, and BOTH of their point guards (D-Lo and J-Mac), and were forced to go kind of "positionless" with both Ant & Slo-Mo starting in the back court against Portland and everybody taking turns bringing the ball down and setting up the offense. And they almost held up against Portland until they got worn out from having to promote so much of their bench to starters.

Based on what I saw in that game, it could mean that their best post-Russel future could look like a team with not only two centers in the starting line-up, but two shooting guards. If Ant & KAT are generating most of the shots, maybe there's no need for a traditional PG on this team, provided whoever you do start at the 1 can play good defense and avoid unforced mistakes.
