I hate to be that guy.. but in the BEST CASE scenario.. its a 14% shot at the first pick. Last year Houston had the worst record in the league.. and they went 3rd. Detroit had the third worst record, something we might have at the end of the year.. and they went 5th.

Hopefully the Spurs front office are lobbying Adam Silver to get the balls to bounce their way. You know Victor "Win"benyama going to the Spurs or Rockets to carry on the legacy of the great bigs of Tim Duncan or Hakeem Olajuwon would be great story lines for the NBA. You know the NBA has rigged some drafts to create a storyline.
Spurs have the same chance at Victor as the Celtics had at getting Timmy… Spurs gonna just evaluate talent n pick the best player available

And, once again, Clan the Spurs Critic, is wrong. You're counting on that Vic would WANT to stay in San Antonio once that rookie contract is up. He's more likely to be Zion and rarely play for 3 years and then go for a contract in a big city market than be Giannis and be happy with less. You have to win immediately on the likelihood that Victor would want to leave
The Jazz stole a chance at getting Victor Wembanyama when they traded Rudy Gobert. The Wolves are sitting in the lottery right now, but the Jazz have the Wolves' 2023 pick unprotected. They could be this generation's Spurs.
I don't know how they are preparing for a 14% chance at the 1st draft pick. Thats a 86% chance we wont have the first draft pick. I doubt anyone in the actual Spurs organization has any plans based on a 86% loss
I think there is a very interesting world where our starting five is Devin at PG, Keldon, Sochan, Wemby and Jakob together. I think that starting five would be very very effective. You split playmaking abilities between Devin/Keldon/Sochan and you play bigger and defensive and let Wemby lead the offense with shooting around him

The thing about Poeltl is he is an unrestricted free agent at the end of the year. They can trade him and still sign him next year if they get Wembenyama. Just risk Jakob really liking the team he gets traded to.

I've seen Victor Wembenyama highlights, he's a good young player, but not great. The kid is tall and seemingly athletic, but he's really lanky and slim.
He's going to need to bulk up if he's going to be legit.
