Kuminga, Wiseman and Moody: 17 FGA in the last game….
Makes sense Wiseman is staying up. No G-league games for the next little while. Jamychal is utter trash, Dray is questionable through injury etc.
I love the upside of what the next few weeks can bring as far as opportunities go. It always suck to see our GOAT sidelined. But we gotta see these kiddos fire away.
Last night was basically the first actual emergency ration drop to Wiseman Island. The G-League hot streak was basically like watching the chopper circle a few times. I think Steve and Kenny gotta be asking if Wise should outright get JMGs minutes.
Moody Rollins PBJ. It’ll be the first look at them with consistent minutes. I understand championship expectations… aspirations… and the alignment of “fuck them kids” or “FO is so arrogant” sentiments with the dissatisfaction of a sub 500 start. But we literally got TWCs playing 20 minutes. Moody and PBJ gotta put a stop to that madness.
Can I say that Donte is a better player than GP2? I mean GP2 got the ring and is an all world elite defensive impact guy and superhuman athlete (who feels like a 30 year old 3rd year player somehow lol). But Donte fills in whatever role he’s asked and is far more versatile. It tells you the strangeness of building around Steph… he’s a tough star to project how players will adapt to playing with him… with Steph you almost prefer a guy who is less versatile and more elite in the three areas of defend decide move pass… whereas the priorities usually would be shoot and defend as 1 and 1A and move decide secondary and pass as an afterthought. Like with Steph GP2 might be the option but in 90% of basketball team buil situations you’d prob take DDV.
So… The goal is to “stay attached to the play-in” over the next stretch. The Basketball Gods owe us no cosmic debts. Root hard against Dallas Jazz Laker and TWolves.
Alot of season left to go. More interesting in some ways than you’d hope. The story of the season is always funner than the result. I got no expectations… gotta get the dudes a chance at the second season and you never know. Go Dubs!
