THE ODD COUPLE – Chris Broussard & Rob Parker react to Dallas Mavericks’ 2020 draft pick Tyrell Terry’s decision to walk away from the game of basketball, saying the following: “I decided to let go of the game that has formed a large part of my identity,” Terry wrote. “Something that has guided my path since I took my first steps. While I have achieved amazing accomplishments, created unforgettable memories, and made lifelong friends…I’ve also experienced the darkest times of my life. To the point where instead of building me up, it began to destroy me.

I just got on medication two weeks ago for my anxiety. I wish him all the best. I know it was hard.
How much has he made
We think we understand our brains 🧠 but in reality we dont
Julien Newman I think Chris was talking about
It's all the expectations of these young people, he probably loves playing but all the business around it creates pressure that they are too young to bear.
All major sports are rigged. Some players cannot handle the guilt they are being used for rigged outcomes.
People are soft today
Oh NOW we sympathizing? Where was all this understanding and support for Ben Simmons and many others? A bunch of ya'll are fake as hell. Smh.
I applaud him . He knows he has a problem and just wants a better life for HIM.
I can't blame the dude I will never fly again either, I used to travel a lot flying too but some bad turbulence and an emergency landing and a couple panic attacks I'll never fly again, Is ground bound the rest of my life
Wow great take from you both. Sad, but I'm happy that he was able to identify what was causing him so much turmoil and decided to retire. Anxiety disorder is painful and can lead to depression. I'm happy for the young man and wish him the very best moving forward.
Jason Kidd.
Mental health > financial wealth. That being said I think he could have benefited from therapy and possibly medications.
Those are the same people who call Ben Simmons names. Man i hate those phonies in the media.
His statement 💔💔
I hope he gets the help he needs to move forward with whatever career he chooses.
I hope he gets the help he needs, because what’s going to happen when he gets a REAL job. And you have hard deadlines, quotas to meet, bosses putting pressure on you, etc. life isn’t easy, especially in the real work world.
Once he gets a normal 15$ an hour job he gonna get over that anxiety real quick and pick up a basketball.
Bottom line is that young man is tired of taking care of begging ass family members and it's getting on his fuckin nerves so much to the point that he would rather retire… I can almost guarantee that's where this "anxiety" is coming from…
Notice how Broussard says women of God but no mention of that being as a wife.
god bless him… god had a better plan for him… as much as i love the game it's a game…
It was sad originally reading his statement, but it was even sadder hearing it read aloud. Hope he finds peace and happiness going forward
Being grounded in faith is key!
He should go into poetry
Anxiety over basketball GTFOH all he doing is throwing balls in the basket lol weak minded
Anxiety is a MF. It took me 38 years with the help of medication to tame it. However, it’s always over my shoulders waiting to intrude in my life.
The boi is softer that Charmin. Getting paid millions to play basketball, what pressure??? How bout a real job where it destroys your body for pennies just to feed your family and so the bills get paid. Day after day even when you don't want to go. Perspective is everything.
Hope the brother gets some help
But the Mavs can hire me I have no anxiety problems what so ever IDGAG about what ANY person says or thinks about me FAMILY INCLUDED
I'll come jack up 3s and miss like these mfs and get paid millions all day everyday all I gotta do is maybe hit 1 or 2 every 3-4 games and shot 20%
Sometimes in life you have to Mann up or be comfortable living on an average person salary but you can’t have it both ways.
Dude probably realized he wasn’t as good as he thought he was and decided to stop playing before he got his feelings hurt
He good issues but at least he recognizes it. Everyone handles things different and I guess the pressure got to him.
Anxiety aka weakness
No talent or money can overcome anxiety, it's non-negotiable. I hope the kid finds the happiness he deserves.
WHO IS MORE DOMINANT? ZION OR GIANNIS? TUNE INTO THE LINK ON MY BIO AND LETS GET REAL HERE 💪🔥😮💨😮💨😮💨
I enjoy these two together. I love chris a lot, but I gotta show love to Rob Parker
