They leave out the fact that the better teams rest their stars because they expect to have to play deep into the playoffs. They are not concerned losing a game or two early in the season if it means their starts are there in April, May and June.

It actually didn’t used to be a big deal bc players used to actually PLAY whenever they were healthy. There wasn’t anything really remarkable about playing 82 games until the last decade or so.

I have nothing but respect for those great legends from the 80s and 90s that played every night. The Jordans, Ewings, and Malones. Their basketball reference pages are full of 81/82 game seasons. Glad to see our guys doing the same.
