The Portland Trail Blazers split a pair of games in Texas over the weekend, losing to the Mavericks in Dallas on Friday night before bouncing back with a win over the Rockets in Houston on Saturday.

It was a revealing weekend for the Blazers as it showed why scoring 115 points has been the key to Portland winning this season. We get into the numbers and what 115 means for assessing the first 30 games of the year.

To close the show we talk about Taking Care of Business wins and why beating bad teams buys the Blazers time to figure out how they’ll beat good ones in the future.

  1. It's pointless to consider the Trailblazers to be a competitive playoff team with a legitimate shot at a finals appearance, without the team registering at least 10th best on defense. Period. End of discussion.

  2. I feel good about where our blazers are they definitely lost some games that they could have won, and a heartbreaker lost against Denver, and with all the injuries they have suffered. with the west the way it is right now they are OK IMO, I will be curious to see what GP2 brings to the team, he’s definitely not going to make this team a significantly much better defensive team but just maybe they can improve a little bit on that side of the ball, we definitely have to address our bench situation we need more scoring and length off the bench IMO, this is all apart of the process in being a good team and building a roster that can compete.
(Trust the process) We have a GM that will make the necessary moves to give Dame at least a good shot to win a chip in Portland. I say in 2-3 years we will be competing for a championship.

  3. Oh brother, this is a 45-win, 6th seed at best playoff team that will lose 4-2 to the 3rd seed at best. Trade Simons and filler for a serviceable starting PF/C and play Grant at his natural SF position.
