If we end up top 3 in east standings then yes he has a good chance.

I think he can win MVP, but people always hate kd and ride someone else’s dick

In the most recent hoop collective, Bontemps was talking about what he’d heard from the MVP straw poll ESPN conducted and based on what he was hearing Durant has no shot.
Bigbadbuck
it comes down to him just staying healthy. he was leading the mvp race at one point last year.

Raheem Palmer brings up a good point regarding MVPs: they hardly EVER go to anyone over 30. So maybe he deserves it, but age plays a factor

He won’t win it and doesn’t need to. KD eyes is set on that chip and finals MVP
Seva55
sure he is growing but at the cost of 5 guys who will never get enough minutes. individual player which is good for some highlights and season wins but good fucking luck in the playoffs.

Need the media to push for it. If the Nets can get top 2 seed and KD stays hyper efficient monster that he is currently, he should be the MVP by a good margin

No. Last MVP in their 30s was Steve Nash who had a massive narrative, was a late bloomer and was in a transition period for the league with regards to superstars so he had alot of hype. Before him was Karl Malone and MJ in 90s.

MVP is for players in their 20s for the most part. Being able to stay healthy, higher motor, stronger media narratives. Lets be honest knock on wood but KD will have a period of injury and missed games. KD himself, Lebron, Steph have had strong MVP caliber seasons in their 30s with not much recognition for the award in favor of the budding, younger player. Media is already salivating to try to give it to Tatum or Luka. Embiid hasn’t won one either yet. Even beyond them an emerging star like a Ja, Booker or even Zion if Pelicans can hold a top seed will have more hype. KD already has one too and it’s much harder for a player who already won. Jokic objectively should be up there with almost anyone right now based on stats, play and team record and he isn’t even being given any consideration at all since he won last 2.

I think KD will finish top 5 in voting but not a real legit shot to win it.

It’s laughable that it took until this week for him to be solidified as top-5 in the MVP race. He should be a lock for top 3 right now
