I don’t know, I didn’t think it made that sense to burn clock in that scenario. Like it doesn’t hurt, but it felt weird to be in “clock burning” mode only up 5 with 3 minutes left.

They should just form a circle around the ball.

Wish he topped it off with the three that would’ve been great, reminds me of when bron did it a couple times in whatever game awhile back but the ball went out of bounds the second time I think lol

I hate how the announcers were like “the league should ban this kind of stuff”. WHAT? it’s always super funny when this happens and somehow the defense gets the steal.

  5. MediocreTake

I wonder what OP’s discord message said

  6. This has to be the longest walking the dog this season.

Wizards defended this just about as well as they did LeBron’s final dunk.

  7. Gristle__McThornbody

Two games in a row he does it. Let’s see if he goes for more time tomorrow against the Suns.

  8. There was too much time left on the clock to be taking the ball to the corner flag imo

    S tier shithousery

Normally the dog doesn’t get this long of a walk by half

i thought that discord noti was mine

I don’t think they should change the rules. I love when players do this

  12. Nixon_Sixon

No, there shouldn’t be a rule change in this. The game clock already stops running after dead balls and 2 minute mark of every quarter. If you don’t this to happen, press the ball or force the pick up.

There are 5 Wizards and a coach on the court watching Schroder do this. Nobody went after the ball until it hit near the 3pt line. That’s not a rule error, that’s a player error.

Did this a lot during the Eurocup this year

  14. Diamond4Hands4Ever

Marcus Smart would have attempted to dive on the ball.

i have wondered for years why teams don’t exploit this. i’ve always thought you should save it for 10+ point leads with 4 or 5 minutes to go (this situation is close enough) against powerful offensive teams. if they make a shot, you let the ball bounce around a little while you pretend you are talking to a teammate about some missed assignment (or else the refs will stop the clock if they know you are stalling), then use all 5 seconds to inbound, then let it roll up like this. you could get a 45 second possession out of it even with a team not being as asleep at the wheel as washington was.

i actually saw denver do it once with jokic. it was so close to what i just described that i think they had to be doing it on purpose.

i would also use this loophole for times when a great player is in the game since most teams only focus on minutes played and not possessions.
always milk an extra 10+ seconds off each play to try to reduce the number of possessions when that player is in the game.

everybody who checked their discord when they heard the sound say I

  17. When he bends over to guard the ball and nobody is guarding him….bruh. It’s so good.

  18. kamekaze1024

Really smart of the Lakers but brain dead play by the Wizards. Have someone pick Dennis up by mid court if you see him doing that.

  19. pembunuhUpahan

While I love this strategy of walking the dog, I’ve always wondered why don’t someone from the other team pick the ball up from full court

  20. __BlackSheep

Why even roll the ball. Just place it on the ground and wait for them to over extend

  21. Scared-Zebra9419

Wym “they should look into changing this rule” a defender literally has run up and faint at schroder and he’ll pick the ball up lol.
