In the 1972 playoffs Wilt outplayed Kareem and the Bucks (even though Kareem was the new star of the NBA and 11 years younger than Wilt) to put the Lakers into the finals versus the Knicks. He had a badly sprained left hand, and in Game #4 he fell on his right wrist. It was thought to be badly sprained as well but was in fact broken. With his hands packed into thick pads normally used by football players, and refusing a painkilling shot because he thought it would affect his shooting touch, Wilt went on to record 24 points, 29 rebounds, 8 assists and 8 blocked shots as the Lakers won the championship and Wilt was named Finals MVP. Here is a pic of Wilt from that game – https://imgur.com/a/ZNl5OWW

Load management?? LOL!!!!!! Wilt’s version of “load management” was to sit out 8 MINUTES total over the course of an entire season!! When looking at Wilt’s playing time, it is somewhat hilarious to hear fans crying about AD being “overused” while averaging only 33 minutes per game.

There has never been another “big man” like Wilt in the history of the NBA. If you take all of the other greatest centers and combine their skills into one…you have Wilt. Those who think there were/are better centers…obviously never saw Wilt play.
