NBA cant really fire these old veteran refs without causing a huge issue with the refs union wich is very powerful and protective of their guys. Thats why guys like Tony Brothers and Scott Foster who have consistently terrible calls or have multiple scandals still get to ref not just regular season games but high stakes playoff series too, they literally cant be touched.

Holmes misses a free throw. Mott is looking at Holmes and doesn’t see Luka at all. The kings bench appeals for a lane violation on Luka and he gives it even though he didn’t see anything AND luka didn’t even commit a lane violation. He’s an awful referee who personally dislikes luka, not to mention he only made the call because the Kings asked for it which is outrageously messed up.

The lane violation calls are such an easy way to tell when a ref has it out for someone. The violation itself happens often but you tend to only see it called when a ref wants to prove a point.

Refs targeting players should be banned from the profession. Their job is to maintain integrity of the game, not control it. Nor to exercise power trips.

i said it in the game thread: it’s ALWAYS rodney mott. i fucking despise this guy. he has a thing out for luka and i think he had a problem with rick as well, so possibly his luka beef extends to the whole organization. it’s always him
