It’s so insane. In the beginning of the year, he was such a great spark off the bench.

  2. MadeinCNY

It’s not emotional. Been calling for his head ever since we got him. Don’t see why we need a ball handler who can’t score.

  3. It’s not a hot take. A hot take would be saying he’s a good player. There’s a reason he hasn’t stuck anywhere. I’d be surprised if he was still here after the deadline.

He sucks, there’s a reason he gets tossed around by different teams without playing time. Any team with championship aspirations isn’t giving Justice Winslow meaningful minutes.

Provides absolutely nothing on offence other than a little passing which we don’t really need and has been an average defender at best this season

The worst part is we can’t sell on Winslow just yet. Like, I really, really want to, and I assume Joe already knows he’s trading Winslow for a bag of peanuts, but he’s still waiting for the bag of peanuts to say yes.

I don’t necessarily want him off the team but I want him out of the rotation. He can be useful as the 10th man and a small ball 5 if we ever run up against a lineup that forces us to switch.

Like he will be really useful if we run into the warriors in the playoffs and they run out the Steph/Poole/Klay/Wiggins/Draymond lineup, and Nurk or Eubanks will be basically unusable against a lineup like that.

Or the Mavs Dinwiddie/Luka/THJ/DFS/Wood lineup he would be useful, we all saw how Nurk got torched by Wood the other day.

But outside of that very specific and niche role he needs to not play.

I been telling y’all this for a month and get downvoted. He’s awful

The real question is why can’t bari get some minutes?

  9. likpoper

He can’t make a simple layup. It is just so frustrating

Evan Turner 2.0. Justice may have better defense but at least Evan had a midrange game to keep the defense honest.

Pretty agreeable. People wonder why Ant is so streaky. Just look at the paint when he plays with second unit. You cannot play Eubanks alongside Winslow in the modern age.

    So what’s your replacement idea?

Btw, flood me with scenarios of yours if you have a better idea on how to run a NBA team

He’s just being asked to do too much. He’s one of the only veterans we have on the roster outside the starting lineup and can reliably handle his assignments on D even if he’s avg at executing. He’s basically a net neutral for Chauncey. He’s a lovely player to have as your 10th/11th man playing 10-15m here and there, dnps some nights, a luxury end of bench guy.

The bigger issue is we just have a major balancing problem. Not Justise in isolation. We all knew this roster was a WIP going into the season, that continues to be self evident. Trying to shift him for a shooter is probably the right play at the deadline (unless he’s salary filler on a bigger trade) given T-Wat is basically 80% of what he offers even if he has terrible nights here and there.

  14. His minutes will disappear once GP2 is ready.

Was gonna say he works as a 3rd ball handler but I think Keon can do that. Only thing is we get smaller with Keon.

Also I think it’s slightly emotional about the defensive take given the end of the game tonight. SGA is a beast. If you wanted to challenge him Hart or JG should of been on him.

Now ya know why he never sticks on a team. That trade for him was so terrible. But hopefully he isn’t here past the trade deadline

    He’s a $4M/year player…

How many $4M players play enough to qualify?

Hayes is the only one I had to look up to know, and sure enough – He makes MORE than Justice, on a Rookie scale deal!

If you want to adjust out the “worst” per dollar, I don’t even have to do the math to know that Justice is the best value. Especially in comparison to Russ, who makes 10X MORE than Justice.

It’s like comparing a base model sedan to a super car.

If the $25K sedan gets me 97% of the performance of the $250K+ super car – What’s the better value?

we need to come to terms that if we want dame to advance, nurkic needs to go

Winslow doesn’t fit on a roster without shooters. He’s so bad offensively that teams can get away with playing him like Westbrook, and defensively he’s a statue. Sure, he can defend the post-up decently, but against guards he just gets shook (like tonight against SGA).

If Winslow is on this team by the time the playoffs roll around, and he’s still playing significant minutes, we’re cooked. Him and Eubanks gotta go if we want a chance. Contending teams aren’t playing guys like Winslow and Eubanks heavy minutes.

  19. shelvino

Our bench backcourt has always been the biggest limitation of the roster.

Eubanks and Watford are both fun offensive players. They make the right play when they get the ball and have solid mobility on defense but neither are strong rebounders and still pretty inexperienced and undisciplined on defensive end.

Nassir was supposed to take a major leap this year but he wasn’t that guy coming off of his injury. Needed better rebounding and defense from him and he wasn’t able to shoulder more of the offensive load. He was pretty much a similar player to Sharpe but a better 3 point shooter but neither guy are reliable for any legit contribution on either end beside being super athletic.

Winslow playmaking hasn’t been there and his defense has fallen off a cliff. With his offense being non existent, it’s difficult to play him because he just isn’t making his presence known on defense and the boards. He isn’t given the advantage that he was to start the year where he was our most versatile and best all around defender. That really hurts because it puts all the perimeter defense on Hart/Grant. We tried to challenge Ant on defense by putting him on SGA then were subbing him out for Keon. I think Payton should be that great defender that we can stick on most players 1-4.

I think its clear we need a major upgrade to our backup 3/4 if we want to do anything this season.
