OG is so valuable bc hes on a nice contract, hes 25, plays efficient offense, puts up near 20 despite being a 3rd option and plays absolute world class defense. It makes sense to me.
There is zero chance OG gets a similar return to Mitchell. So yes, Zach Lowe is correct I would be incredibly surprised if that happens. OG is a good player but at the end of the day he is still just a role player. Lowe is basically just acting as a mouthpiece for the raptors trying to start the bidding high.

Trading a cadre of picks for role players is dumb unless a team is not in the lottery, not near a rebuild, or are title contenders.
I don’t really understand why anybody is surprised by this. OG is the perfect modern NBA player type of player. As good as Donovan is not everyone wants a Donovan Mitchell type of player.

OG is an elite role player, but still just a role player, if he costs anywhere what Donovan cost he just isn’t worth it.
He can be the best defender but he’ll never be your best or 2nd best player on a championship team, he’s basically a wing Marcus Smart but injury prone as well.
I’d give up our 2 FRPs for OG in a heartbeat
