Pitt staved off a ferocious Syracuse comeback to eke out the road victory, 84-82. Down by 20 with 10:45 left, Judah Mintz’s 17 points in the closing stretch put the Orange within 1, but the Panthers did just enough to win. Blake Hinson’s 25 points, 13 rebounds, and 4 assists paced Pitt, while Nelly Cummings picked up 22 points of his own. Cuse’s Mintz finished with 24 points in the loss.
