I’m generally not a fan of ownership bashing (I don’t think keeping Huerter/Delon would have made us contenders), but appointing family members is never a good sign, in my experience. We know Nick already had a role in the FO, and that he is personally close with Trae, so not all bad things, but it is a challenging power dynamic for other members of the FO to have an equal/objective voice in decision making.

  2. My thread has gained no traction lol so piggybacking off this one. Friendly reminder that Amick recently reported this-

“Trae — and the way that he handles his powers — he’s got a lot of juice in that franchise, and a lot of people internally are trying to get the word out that he’s got a little too much juice. I think it’s well past the front office. Part of it is ownership; Tony Ressler owns that team. Nick Ressler, his son, has a lot of power and is very closely tied in with Trae. There are some folks who feel like that’s part of the reason that Trae feels as empowered as he does. If you’re operating above your “superiors” and going straight to the ownership side, you’re gonna move a little bit differently.”

They ran Travis off y’all and this was our warning. Everybody thought it was about Nate. It was about Travis. ( And probably still Nate)😭

Small (potential) saving grace is that it’s BUSINESS and bball ops. Could be the case that he’s moving to an organizational oversight role of both the business and bball Hawks orgs. Obviously don’t feel great about nick having a strong voice on roster construction etc… (given his lack of experience), but my (probably naive) hope is that he will be managing more of the business side of the house than the bball one.

Bruh Ressler is a joke of an owner. To be meddling and cheap is an untenable combo. This franchise bout to be run into the ground.

People are taking this like the owner’s son just became the head of all basketball decisions lmaooo

  8. Now we know where all the leaks have been coming from.

This is not new, he’s been listed at that position for 2 years but it still does make you wonder what the players are thinking and feeling about the organization and traes selfishness.

Hope you guys enjoy a 1st round exit ceiling, same as it ever was

I wonder how many 1st round exits we’ll get before Trae demands a move

Man I’m so mad at my dad right now for not being a billionaire.

    His Job history on LinkedIn…

    – Sports and entertainment Intern (3 months)
    – Real estate Analyst (1 year)
    – Hawks Coordinator of basketball operations (1 year)
    – Hawks Manager of Basketball operations (1 year)
    – Hawks Director of Business and Basketball operations

You got to respect that grind.

Is Travis is a part of the organization tho or did he fully step down?

  13. Sad_Arrival8002

Yeah so Ressler has probably been at the wheel for a while now

I think it’s about time for us to acknowledge that this franchise will remain in NBA hell for years to come. Blatant nepotism is almost never a good sign especially when the owner is cheap as fuck.
