Pop is cold
I loved Derrick white, I feel like he was done wrong, now I gotta say devin is my favorite, his jump shot is just too damn smooth
i was never very high on him. he was great in spots….shooting wise relatively streaky. for me it was his defense that was his bright spot. everything else to me was just mehhh
They talk about imposter syndrome in the interview as well
I'll never forget his game against nuggets and all the charges he'd get every game. It was a win win trade but I agree, it's a ruthless business.

I'm Dwhite fan also Spurs fan, I watch this interview in full. The most exciting & funny part for me is JJ tells Dwhite if he were him will tell coach "start me or trade me" 😂
White was cool but I was 100% on board with trading him. Was calling for it before it became rumored. Glad they did it and I am glad he is on a winning team getting a chance.

D white was great, but quick turn around trades are part of the business. Ultimately, you have to respect the spurs for at least consistently considering the players needs and really trying to put them in an environment that still allows them to continue to grow, even if it's not with them.
Spurs don’t always tell the players they’ll trade them. But Pop always delivers the trade news to players personally. Think that’s really classy.
Derrick as my fav player too, still root for him, but I got it in perspective pretty quick. It was the right move for both parties, even if I didn’t see it that way the day it was announced.
Man Clan, why'd you have to dig up old memories? Derrick was my favorite Spurs player also since the big 3 and this just hurt. 🙁 Wish we could some way get him back eventually. 🙁

Tbh, we traded away DJM, who is a lot better than White, it just makes so much
sense for the complete rebuild. Don't get me wrong, Derrick was a hidden gem
at 29th, but is he really a decent starter? I doubt it. Yeah, I know the Celtics are
starting him a lot this season, but I feel like he is pretty exposed in the play-off,
where his defense didn't really work against star-level players. Although his 3P%
seems good at 39.4%, in some games, he just couldn't hit the target and would
jack up like 4~5 bricks in a row.
The thing is I can't really see him as our future starting 5, especially since we still got
younger players to develop, so that was the right decision IMO.
Yeah, it is sad. He was my favorite too. That was clearly the start of the tank. I like how thought-out it’s been. The Spurs don’t seem to just trade a player to whoever. They do what’s best for both parties, and with Pop saying it asap to Derrick in person, it proves that it’s done with class.
D White was and still is one of my favorites! Sorry it worked out that way. It's a business, but very happy he has a chance to WIN IT ALL! Good luck DWhite! We are proud and supporting you! Go DWhite! Go Spurs!

I can only imagine how hard it was for Derrick with imposter syndrome and all that hard work and a kid on the way. Also having to leave the basketball community that believed in him.
I’m happy for DW being on a contender. It’s hard not to like the guy because he’s so humble, soft spoken and hard working.
I’m excited for the next evolution of the Spurs, how they’re taking the Beautiful game and shaping it into todays 3pt heavy game
