Did Embiid win a championship already? 😢
I have never seen anyone as big as Joel 'The Big Flop' Embiid hit the floor so much in the NBA. Not Jabbar. Not Ewing. Not Robinson. Not Olajuwon. Not O'Neal. Not Mourning. Not Jokic.

I don't like Embiid either, but tbh he's not wrong. NN has the reputation of "stopping" the stars/superstars, but how does he do that? He gets the ball out of their hands and forces others to make plays. However, this is where we become losers because we double and "soft help" way too often which leads to open 3 pt shots to NBA players. So are we "stopping" the opponent 's star, yes, but at what expense?
It is the main reason why we lost the Philly series. I know we were injured, but honestly I think NN got saved from getting criticized by that. It was the worst defensive scheme ever. Harden did not want to shoot that series but instead of daring him to shoot and just moving our feet defensively, we forced the ball out of his hands by throwing a soft double at him leading to an easy 3 pt shot or a layup. Forcing the ball out of his hands, meant Maxey got the ball and we all know what happened there. Realistically, he got outcoached by Doc, and true ball fans know how bad that sounds.
Look at the last game. Embiid had the ball a few feet beyond the 3 pt line in OT with 5 secs left on the shot clock. If I'm the coach, we aren't doubling. If Embiid hits a 3, so be it. He's not Kyrie, Durant, Steph or Dame. If you lose by that shot, you shake their hand and move on. But we didn't do that. We helped off harris, who's a 42% 3 PT shooter, Embiid passed it to him and the rest is history. We bailed out Embiid. Nurse's scheme was obsessed to stop Embiid only to leave a 42% 3 pt shooter wide open.
NN wants to continue to "stop" the opponents offensive player because he has that reputation. It's a narrative so he can land his next job.
I agree with Joel kinda. It’s true that our guys get tunnel vision, so bent on doing the system that they miss something obvious, accidental double coverages, missed cuts, and that open corner 3 when they make 2 passes or more.
You guys have to understand the Raptors are the only team to make Embiid cry and the man has never gotten over that and those meme’s are constant reminder. Embiid know’s if they won that series vs us they likely win the championship. His comments is based on what could have been and I don’t think he will ever get over that series unless he win’s a championship. The man’s mission is to 💩 on the raptors organization at any chance because this is the organization that broke him and had him in tears.
Gtj is tasty but I found he hasn't improved in the two years we've had him. Dude has not shown up when we need him, ie losing streaks and playoffs.
Norm for GTJ is a wash trade so far. But I'd keep GTJ cuz he is a gamer.

Retain Gary at 21-23/yr would be better than retaining fred at a higher rate. Gary is a straight up SG you know what hes gonna do when he gets the ball, FFV is an undersized SG that thinks he's a PG.

Honestly, that's pretty cheap to keep GTJ, he fits with us, we need to keep him. If he was asking for $30 million or more then that'd be a different story but he's not. Joel Embiid is very salty still and I'd like to see the Raptors eliminate him again in the playoffs before he leaves the Sixers. I do believe we'll win tonight or Friday in Cleveland as one of these teams will choke to us.
