  1. Absolutely Yes Jax should play more and then be traded ASAP. Pelicans rim protection is a disaster. It sucks. Considering the situation anyone tall and athletic anough should be given a chance. Jax had several chances last year..but this season nearly zero. I know Jax is an underachieving player. He's clueless. But Val defense is so horrible that he deserve to play 10 min per game.

  2. playing Jax does 2 things… it would boost his trade worth if the pels were to ever want to depart with him and secondly, it would give the pels one last chance to see if Jax can contribute to their future game plan. i would give him sporadic minutes to see how he responds because last year, although there were times that hes out of place, but when hes at the right spot it would give the pels a boost of energy from his crazy dunks and stuff. we have to remember that hes still a very young kid and would need time to develop. this whole pels team is young and all need playing time to develop properly.

  3. He hasn't been moping which is a good sign. Maybe his head is in the right frame of mind and he starts grasping the defensive principles the coaches want to see. But he would need considerable minutes (15-25) a game to give him an honest evaluation. At the expense of JV/Nance. That could cause issues from JV.

  4. Yep 👍🏾 I do… he's definitely got the athleticism which was on display at Texas. Hopefully he has learned situation awareness.

  5. Why isn't Jax in Birmingham getting better?!?! WHAT ARE WE DOING?!?! HE'S WORTH NOTHING AS A BENCH RIDER!

  6. what`s up with training him to stay down around the basket teaching him how to play basketball as a center? are they just giving up on him?

  7. They also been turning it over way to much that leads to easy fast break 3's against us…

  8. You have to think how Willie was using Hayes he has him playing the 4, he had camped out at the 3 point line, and that was still his role when he came in earlier in the season. So it's harder to get rebounds from there. I don't think he's being developed right. Also Hayes would do better with a traditional style PG (CP3).

  9. I think it's most effective if Herb is guarding the best shooter, but not the best slasher. The thing we are really missing most is a person who can guard a dominant slasher.

  10. It's time to pay the tax…Buy in this season… Love WG but faster adjustments when teams make counter punches….We can't keep giving up a season/career high to a different player every game.

  11. Pels are losing because they threw players coming off injury right into the starting lineup instead of easing them in as they got better again and still win the games

  12. You brought up a name, Whiteside. Free agent to bring in. Am I crazy to rather him over Willy and Jax? I recall him still playing decent last year

  13. Larry is out …sure you can give him some minutes but Jaxson is not a good rebounder or rim protector….dude is just a athletic big man without bbiq

  14. This fan base has the strangest bias against JH. He actually played really well down the stretch last year. He is an elite athlete with elite size. He gave you a ton of energy plays last year.

Not great in the post on defense but he can move pretty well on switches. He is also great in transition.

You can put him in the dunker spot and zion could be throwing him lobs on drives with the post man cones over.

Its just such a waste of talent. The cliche "Big men take time to develop" is repeated for a reason.

  15. Jaxson had some good moments last season when Zion was out, both regular season & playoffs. I don’t think it’s fair to judge him off garbage time minutes if he even gets those. Is he perfect? No. But he can do things that other bigs on NOLA simply can’t do. Sometimes in basketball it just helps to have someone who’s really tall and freakishly athletic. Jonas doesn’t always close and Larry has said his body can’t keep up banging with centers all day. Either trade for a defensive big or see what jaxson can do.

  16. YES! Give Jaxon some minutes…. I've been waiting for this talk! I Don't understand why he was dropped after what he did last season for the Pels during the playoffs

  17. Dyson is a better rebounder than Jackson, and he can use the minutes. So I agree with you about Hayes. I don't want to use any of our future picks. We are a small market team, and we will always have to replenish the lineup. Keep the roster the same and give the younger players enough time to grow along with the coaching staff. We won't win a championship this year, regardless of any trade.

  18. I think the team has given Jax plenty of chances, and he just doesn't seem to be catching on. The NBA is very very fast and very few have the bbiq to handle it. While he is a super athlete, he has not grown up as a bb player and this puts him at a disadvantage to others. You could try to play him but I don't think you're gonna get different results. I would try to trade him rather than have him walk in the off-season, though.

  19. Is DA a big piece that would round out the Pelicans lineup? Good D, rebounding and shooting, he is use to being the 2nd/3rd guy. I would go into the tax for him.

  20. Zion is my player, but you say Jaxon Hayes do not rebound good, but neither doesn't Zion. Zion has the weight to just clear out the paint. Zion is either playing lazy or refusing to indulge. He is more athletic than Charles Barkley, and Barkley never had a game much under 11 rebounds. Maybe Willie doesn't put him in positions to rebound by placing him in the corner of the offense. I watch all the Pels game, and I barely see Zion crashing the board. That was why he was famous before his NBA career. Nothing was coming off the rim he didn't try to grab. Motivate Zion to average 12, which I believe should be easy for him!!!!!!
