[Buha] The Lakers don’t believe there is a trade presently available that will immediately turn them into a contender, especially when factoring in the likelihood that Davis will miss a few weeks at a minimum.

Not really anything new tbh but posting this incase anyone interested

Feel like this has long been the opinion, even pre-injury, otherwise they would’ve pulled the trigger.
We can agree/disagree on buddy/Turner, but clearly the FO didn’t feel it put them over the top.

Anyone else think Bron is getting kinda frustrated with AD’s constant injuries? His so called partner on this team wears his street clothes more than his uniform the past few seasons. I would trade AD soon, cuz his value is diminishing every game he sits out. Season after season. He was hurt on the Pelicans as well. Glass bones happen.

Can they really say this without making an actual trade? You’re telling me, trading Nunn, Bev, picks won’t net us atleast some role players who wouldn’t add some wins? I doubt it. Trading Russ nets good amount of players that can contribute to more wins. This is the FO way of being cheap. Sitting around and doing nothing is worse than making a move

Depends what that trade is. But doesn’t have to make us a contender anymore. We need to rebuild our depth with rotation players or we’ll be in the cycle until we move on from Bron/Ad.
Letting Westbrook’s 47 million expire for 30 million in cap space doesn’t make any sense especially with the players hitting the market this summer

Hopefully Lebron asks for a trade

No shit we built a shitty roster

At this point I feel like Rob is punishing LeBron on purpose for forcing/telling them to make the Westbrook trade and now he wants him to live with it.
Edit: I am not defending Rob and blaming LeBron but just pointing out how it comes off.

He’ll be back in a few weeks? I thought they were going to amputate the foot

Honestly I think we’ve all come to terms with the fact we’re not winning a championship this year and that the chance of us making the playoffs is incredibly thin. They just need to make trades that keep us from being an embarrassment for the rest of the season 🥴

Please don’t waste Lebron‘s final years 🙁

Rob and Jeanie probably threw a party when AD got injured. Perfect excuse to do nothing and suck ass this season

If You don’t make a move and let Russ expire…
Only two options at that point. You either trade AD in the off season and get a different star, because you’ll have picks, but not enough cap for a max slot to add with bron and AD,
or you use 30m in cap space and just add 2 mid tier role player and rest veteran mins. Congrats Rob and Jeanie

Maybe as of now….
Because unlike in r/NBA, I am a lot more high on the team than others. I saw them go toe to toe with Philly, Boston and Bucks AWAY from home and defeat Denver. If they actually get good complimentary pieces around LeBron and AD, no reason why they can’t be a contender.
Hopefully this is just negotiation tactics from the Lakers front office.
