After last season and before this season’s Wiseman experiment in games 1-10, the answer would have been “Lacob’s ego”, because he got to claim that the “two timelines” plan worked…even though it was the core as well as the bench vets carrying that championship team, and the kids played less and less as the playoffs wore on

Absolutely no one is benefiting right now.

The core isn’t benefitting. We’re on our way towards half the season played and we’re scratching and clawing just to get near .500.

Steve Kerr isnt benefitting either. Do you run the vets to the ground just to win or do you let the young guys come along while sacrificing the season.

The young guys aren’t benefitting. They’re given limited minutes and can’t play freely and make mistakes without backlash from the organization and the fanbase. Look at Wiseman, kids been through hell and back just to get himself right and he’s being treated like dog shit when he plays poorly.

The fanbase is insufferable as is and is overreacting truly. Need I remind everyone we were three games above .500 and trending towards making it to the top 4 in the west before Wiggins went down, then Steph. Then guys left and right aren’t playing.

If you ask me the right move is to package Wiseman+JMG+one of the young guys aside from Kuminga and picks for some vet talent in return.

We stay young and all the while we get some much needed help for the starters. If we’re like this AFTER the trade deadline, the season is pretty much over.

No one. Time to break the young guys just like the lakers did.

At the moment? Not really anyone.
But it’s MEANT to benefit everyone eventually.

    * The core: Due to salary situation and hard cap, FA options will be severely limited. Rookie salaries are one of the few ways to maintain flexibility trade wise and player wise as you expect them to get better. If you punt two timelines you are looking at 1 year rentals for the most part, which will put you in a worse situation if the rental doesn’t pan out.
    * Kerr: Kerr wants good players. Tough luck again our salary situation makes that difficult. If the young players can contribute heavily eventually, then it helps Kerr, especially if we can avoid tanking.
    * The Kids: Develop in a good organization with lots of mentors and cut out bad habits early. Losing playing time but gaining access to HOF advice and mentorship.
    * The Fans: Two timelines is also so fans don’t have to suffer years of tanking and mediocrity after Steph and the HOFers retire.

**Whether it pans out is still up in the air** but nothing is guaranteed but if you expect two timelines to be without growing pains and setbacks that’s just wishful thinking. **You would also be in the right to say forget about the two timelines, it’s all about Steph.** But many trade targets result in just a 1 year rental and afterwards screws up Stephs remaining years even worse because you have limited FA options, can’t sign big names due to salary, and bench is even worse, and all out of assets.

    Obviously no one.

Young guys would be better off in a situation where they can just play through mistakes and build confidence.

Our core guys would be better off surrounded by *mostly* veterans who can pick up our system relatively quickly, are less prone to making mistakes caused by inexperience and have consistent effort levels.

Kerr is at his best when coaching vets. Giving him this roster is malpractice.

This fanbase hates everything at almost all times but this season in particular has been full of frustration. Reminds of 2021.

Everything about the two timeline approach is stupid. Who does the Warriors think they are? There’s a reason no one successfully rebuilds this way. It’s just far more effective to expend the years you have with a core, and then accept a few tank years to take advantage of the lottery. By then, most of your guys are better developed and you can fill the margins via trade and FA.

Look at Cleveland. It took them like 3 years to rebuild post-LeBron. That’s literally it. It’s not fucking hard. Warriors just screwing themselves by trying to act arrogant and smug about how ‘smart’ they are.

Lacob and his ego so he can say “I did it my way”

We would have been fine if the front office listened to Kerr instead of going for athletic archetypes. Now we got long projects that will or may not be ready for a few more years
